CVS ECB deals - Sales for Week 5/6-5/12

Thank you! It's been a while since I've been to CVS. I don't even get the ad anymore in the Washington Post like I used to.

Does the ECB credit immediately to that purchase or do you have to use it on a future purchase?

I guess some brands are regional as well. The Ice Mountain water listed in the OP is listed as Poland Spring in my local circular (I just looked online to see the deals).

Your ECB's print immediately AFTER the transaction so you can use them on your next purchase - even if it is 2 minutes after the 1st transaction

Brands and deals can definitely be regional. The water brand is a regional thing - same deal pretty much everywhere but a different brand.

I did the arthritis kit deal last week that is similar to this weeks Hershey deal. It does not show up on the bottom of your receipt. When you purchase over the $10 limit they are supposed to automatically mail out the tin to you. If you read the fine print it says 8-10 weeks to receive the tin. I plan on purchasing 5 of the Cacoa reserve bars (I have 10 coupons for them free) adding on 1 package of the snack size PB cups to throw me over the $10 and adding other sale items on as well so that I can use a $4/$20

Yeah I saw that it was a by mail deal but wasnt sure if it would show or not, i think ill try for my next $6 then to get the tin. Maybe ill buy some more cookies and a cacao bar or something. I hope it comes!!..lol

Walgreens has some good deals too but it is a monthly project. You get a rebate booklet at the beginning of the month (you have to ask for 1 in the store) and then purchase certain products. At the end of the month you have so many days to mail out your rebate request. You have to fill out the rebate form, fill in some UPC codes from the products you purchased and mail out in time. You will then either get back a check for the rebate amount or you can have the $$ put onto a GC in which they will credit you an additional 10%. I have problems doing the whole rebate thing - forget to mail it, etc. so it just does not work as well for me. I also don't like the fact that my money is in limbo for about 6 weeks whereas the CVS program you have an instant turnaround.

1. How many bottles of Suave hair care for $.59 and Kleenex for $.89 can I purchase? Is this where the 5 limit I keep hearing about comes into play?As long as there is no fine print you can purchase as many as you would like. The suave & kleenex there are NO limits!

2. On the Gold Emblem Peanut deal for $.49 it says there is a limit of 4. Does that mean I can buy 4 @ $2.49 and get $8.00 back in Extra Bucks? You will get as many incremements of the ECB amount x the amount you purchased as long as it does not exceed the limit. In the nut example you are allowed 4 for the week - if you purchase them 1 at a time you will get back $2 each time, if you purchase all 4 in 1 shot you will get back 1 ECB for $8

3. On the Colgate buy 1/get 1 free deal. I have 2 coupons for $1 off. Can I use both of those coupons on the same order? You are allowed to use 1 coupon per item EVEN if the 2nd item is free so YES you can use both. You would also be able to use 1 CVS coupon per item as well on top of the mfg coupon

4. And the one I am most confused about is the $5 Extra Bucks when you spend $20 on these P&G products. Can you buy multipals of each item to total $20. (ex: 4 cans of Pringles, 2 Charmin packages etc.) I have coupons for lots of these items. If I am right at $20 in these items and gave several dollars worth of coupons do I still get my extra bucks? You are allowed to spend the $20 however you like. All 1 product, different increments of different products, it is up to you. You will only get 1 $5 ECB back so you could not spend $40 worth of product and get back $10. It also has to be the items pictured on that page of the ad.

Just to clarify, they rarely ask for UPC codes, just the receipts (in many years of doing them, I can only recall one time I had to provide a UPC).

As for having money in limbo, if you do it right that rarely happens. I always opt for the gift card to get the extra 10%, and each month I just get my total added onto it. It usually takes 3 weeks to get, and I use my totals from the previous month to buy the next month's purchases, and so on and so on.

When I get home from making my purchases, I just take the rebate booklet and receipt and put it with my bills. I always pay bills at the end of the month so that reminds me to mail it in.

The other nice thing about Walgreen's is that you can use your gift card balance from the rebates to purchase other gift cards (CVS and Eckerds don't let you do this). I'm going to be getting a $20 gift check from Walgreens for transferring a prescription next week, so I'm going to use my gift card to buy a $25 Rainforest Cafe gift card for our upcoming trip and use the gift check for next month's purchases.

I do the deals with both CVS and Walgreens, but I find Walgreens to be much less hassle. I am completely sick of CVS being inconsistent with their rules, I just dread going in there. I'm relieved they don't have any deals I need this week so that I can skip going there!

Call customer service, they should be able to reset it to reprint at your next transaction.

and paid $1.06 OOP

I got $5 back in ECB

Now here is what I got:

1 Bic Soleil shaver
4 things of Cover Girl makeup
4 jars of peanuts.

Total: $71.09

Total AFTER coupon and ECB :

Got back in ECB:

$8.00 for the peanuts

Last week, I went into CVS prepared to spend over $40. (I spent $41 to be exact!) I had two of the 4 off 20 printouts (I re-copy at home!). The cashier was uncertain if two would work, so she tried it and it worked! So, give it a try if you want, as long as you are spending enough to begin with...Good luck!

You can use it as much as you want, but each has to be a seperate transaction and you need a new coupon for each one. I just print them 5-10 at a time and keep them in my purse so I'm always armed. I used 3 yesterday- had to check out 3 times.


ETA- Maybe you don't have to check out 3 times- I just assumed and did- it helps to roll over your ECB's too, especially if your CVS will only take one ECB per transaction.

This is very fuzzy logic You can't count your ECB's twice. You can count them when you get them OR when you redeem them. Sorry to be a debbie downer...

I look at it this way the ECB I got back are money in my pocket. So either way if I don't count them. I paid 23.33 for 71.00 worth of stuff. Heck that is still a huge savings.

You can use the email printout for $4/$20 each transaction. I print out multiple copies and use them. You also can back register tape $4/$20 (CRT's) and those are a 1 shot deal. Either 1 you use, the clerk takes the coupon away from you so you can not re-use the same piece of paper for multiple transactions - you would need another printout.

When you purchase an item that qualifies for an ECB the ECB prints out immediately after you transaction (akso referred to as an instant ECB or I-ECB). Prior to April 1st the ECB's would not print until 48 hours later. Many people printed them at home prior to returning to CVS so they could use them on their next transaction instead of buying someone small to generate the printout and use them on that weeks sales. So now you do not go online and print your ECB's as they will already have printed out after your purchase. You use those printed ECB's towards your NEXT transaction or trip but they are immediately available to spend. I hope this helps and doesn't further confuse. The only online coupons I print now are coupons I find that are mfg coupons that are extra savings on top of the ECB's I earn.
