My coupon didn't beep and I even used it twice at one store. It's got a golden yellow lid and I love the smell. It remind me of some of the really pricey premium creams. Yes it's a moisturizer. I tan and have to use good stuff or my skin gets dry. I was really surprised how much I liked it. I've been buying expensive stuff for tanners, and I liked this much better.

I have 4 but I'm planning to maxamize that coupon until the end of March. My sister is 18 and will get into my stash. I signed her up for a card and if I thought the stores had it, I'd do the deal on her card, I just think I wiped them out and my energy is pretty low today. I may stop by one and just have a look see though lol

Oh I can beat that....mine haven't watched it AT ALL. Now they did see it at the theatre but I thought surely they would want to watch it again when they got the DVD.

guess we all need a break sometimes...i did do the popcorn deal w/the coupons that printed making them free.. my husband is loving it! i have a bunch more so i'll have to hit cvs tomorrow to stock up!

I think the popcorn deal is the CRT for Gold Emblem nuts. There was some popcorn type snack that had nuts in it.

The Gold Emblem $2/2 CRT can be used for 2 boxes of the toffee or caramel popcorn since it has peanuts. It goes thru easy! The popcorn is on sale for $1 a box this week. Enjoy!

I found the robes tonight they were 90 % off I got 6 of them..they only had white. I also got the wet and wild manicure sets for 49cents I feel so excited to be part of the Robe Club

You guys are getting so sick of me! But this is the best I could come up with assuming no ECB's or $X/$XX to start with. Hey, maybe it will help someone new to get started though This isn't the best week in terms of getting ahead with ECB's....but I think it is a GREAT week in terms of products that people actually use at really good prices.....I cringe at paying $1 for deoderant, but to many that is a great deal

Anyway, I usually tell people they need about $15-$20 up front to really get going at CVSing, so I guess this is realistic. I really wanted to get it down to about $10 OOP, but I just couldn't figure it out. If anyone has any suggestions, please share!!!!!

I'm still struggling with getting started, and this plan makes sense to me -- and does indeed involve a lot of products we use. My only question is, where are you getting the coupons? Newspaper inserts, online? That's one of the main problems I've been having: getting coupons that match up with the deal.

The other is what happened to me today, when I tried to do the monthly Aveeno moisturizer deal with a mfg coupon and a $1.50 CRT -- I'm learning the lingo, at least! -- and could not find either of the moisturizers pictured in the ad. I had no idea what else would work and not a lot of time to mess around with experimenting. They told me it might come in next week, but there didn't even seem to be an empty spot on the shelf! So I'm not sure what to do in this situation. My CRT is good until 3/11, so I'm hoping I can try again early next week.

First, welcome to posting on this thread. The people on here are so awesome and helpful. I've learned so much in just two months of being on here.

Some people buy extra Sunday newspapers for the coupon inserts, some buy them off various websites, some join coupon trains, some have friends and neighbors save their inserts for them. Once in a while we are really lucky and one of our CVSers posts a link to an internet coupon that you can print one or more copies of and matches up with a deal like Lumene this week.

As for the Aveeno products, be sure to get a raincheck (they never expire and you can use them at any CVS) but since it's a monthly deal chances are good it will be in before the end of the month. I also understand CVS will take expired CRT's. I used one yesterday for $2 off nuts. When the contact solution was a monthly deal back in December I think it was, I was never able to find it in stock so I got a raincheck for two bottles. I didn't get the ECB's but they did give me two bottles free when I finally found it in stock and produced my raincheck for them. More experienced CVSers can maybe give you better advice about this but I would get a raincheck if you really want the Aveeno products. But maybe the CVS pros can give you a better answer on this.

Okay I have seen alot of talking about scanning your card to get CRT's. I don't understand this. Not sure I have seen anywhere to scan my card in my CVS.

Somewhere in your store there is at least one blue or red box which is a price scanner. Where I live the red scanners also issue CRT coupons and the blue ones do not. Also where I live most of the stores do not have the red scanners, just the blue ones.

It depends where you live. Here in PA, the scanners are pretty rare. I shop at 7 CVS and sometimes visit 3 more. Of the 10, 1 (brand new store) has a red scanner that gives coupons and one store has a blue scanner that just does price checks. None of the other stores have scanners.

In my examples (for the newspaper article), almost all of the coupons came from the Sunday inserts. I had used some of the coupons previously, but some very generous DISer's sent me their spare coupons so I could do a good demonstration for the article. In the example, the Aveeno is an IP (internet printable) along with the Cereal coupons. All the rest though came from the Sunday inserts.

Also, you have to keep your Sunday inserts. Most of the time the coupons we use for this week came from inserts a few weeks ago.

Ah, ok. I used all of my CRTs for either the 99cent Trail Mix or the Choc Covered Macadamia nuts that are on clearance for $2 a bag (DH loves these!).

If I get another one I'll try it on the Popcorn.

Am I crazy? I bought a bunch of robes and the Wet/Wild nail sets to give DD's teachers and therapists for Christmas next year. DD is disabled and attends a school run by UCP. There are so many people that work with her that if I don't buy things on sale (75% or 90%) I can't afford to give them anything.

My DH thinks that it's stupid to give them to the school staff as gifts. He even laughed at me when I told him about them.

What do you think.

*Update on the article*

Talked to the reporter this morning. We still haven't gotten clearance to take pictures at the CVS store from corporate. I told the reporter it really wasn't that exciting to come to the store with me, so I am just going to do the transactions myself on Sunday. Then, the reporter and photographer will come to my house Thursday night and take pictures there of the items I bought and my stockpile.

After the photog leaves, I will walk through how CVSing works with the reporter and we will go over the receipts from the shopping trip. I think CVS receipts are pretty easy to follow.

I am going to sign my mom up for a card since she doesn't have one. Hopefully then I can get the $4/$20 welcome email to use as well as do the Vitamin deal. I am going to tweak around my transactions and see if I can come out better doing that.

I am much less stressed out now doing it this way and not having her follow me around the store. Thanks everyone for following my saga!

You guys are all such an inspiration. I am going to try to get started with this, as DH and I have both been laid off and need all the help we can get! I’ve read through, but there is so much information here. I have some questions just to make sure I am getting it.

Do you buy every single item that is free after ECB, whether it is a product you use or not?

What about items that give you ECB, but will not be free...
Do you only buy them if you have a coupon?
Only if the coupon will bring the price to free?

When a coupon prints on your receipt, do you buy all of these items, or only what you would normally buy?

Do you save every coupon you get in the papers?
Where else do you get your coupons?
Do you look specifically for the coupons that match CVS items?
How do you organize all these coupons?

How much time do you spend on this….finding the coupons, etc?
How long are you in the store?

I am sorry for all the questions, but am trying to get this to all sink in.

Also, I get very frustrated with my CVS, because they always seem to be out of the sale items (I cannot go on Sundays).
