CVS Couponing Experts Needed

I have a question about how ECB (extra care bucks) are generated at CVS. Today I was purchasing items for the Proctor and Gamble special - spend $30 on P&G items and receive $10 ECB. I had $34 worth of P&G stuff before coupons. After coupons, my total came to $27. The machine did not spool out my $10 ECB. I asked the cashier and she stated that was because I only spend $27. I told her no, I spend $34 before coupons and it should generated an ECB. She was she sure the machine was correct. She was not exactly the most helpful person on the block and said if the machine did not spool out a coupon then that must be the reason. So I am being "docked" for using coupons??? That does not make sense. They get the coupon amount back from the company (P&G in this case)... I ended up returning my items and getting my coupons back. Has anyone come across this issue? Has CVS changed their policy on coupons and ECB? This has not happened to me in the past. Weird... :confused3 Thanks for your help!!

If all the items you purchased were included in the deal, then you should have received your ECB. The total before coupons is what matters and not after. Can you list the items you purchased?

Yea, be sure everthing you got went toward the $30.00 total. I have in the past picked up a different toilet tissue that was marked on sale but it wasn't the right one and didn't count towards the P&G total of $30.00 - weird since both kinds were listed in the ad.

It should of given you the $10.00 if you have $30.00 BEFORE coupons.

I thought that too but I thought I purchased all "acceptable" items. Here are my items:
1 Tide Free (50 oz) - $5.94
1 Cascade Action Pacs - $4.99
1 Charmin Basic $5.77
2 Alway Infinity 14 ct - $3.99 each
2 Tampax Radiant 16 ct - $3.99

Thanks for your help!!

It might have been the Tampax. I think it is the Tampax Pearl that counts.

I have you at $32.66 pretax. Look at the bottom of your receipt. If it says you are $5.32 away from earning the reward it was the Tampax.

Tampax Pearl 18 ct. are the ones included in the deal. That's why you came up short. You only spent $24.68 on participating items. Your receipt should show how much you have spent towards the deal and how much more you need to spend to get your ECBs.

That is it!! You all are the bee's knees! :) I am off to CVS to give this a try again! Thank you so much!

Hopefully you will get it this time. Next time that happens look at your receipt in the store and have the manager fix it then. Some managers are not very helpful. Sometime we have to nudge them along. :rotfl2:
