I FINALLY found them today! I have been looking for them for weeks everywhere and gave up hope a few weeks ago. My youngest actually started to go down an alisle I don't normally go and when I looked up, THERE they were. I am doing the Happy Dance. They were $8 each and the same for 2 filters but I am set for DW. :cool1:

HTH someone else!

I just got back from WDW yesterday and tried these bottles for the first time. I have to say that I was a bit skeptical that they would work, but let me tell you, they did!! I thought even the water directly from the water fountains tasted great after being filtered through the bottle.

Well worth the $8 you paid rather than paying $2.50 per bottle at WDW!

Have a great trip!
Joanne

Just curious....wher else have people bought these? I saw them a couple years a go at Linens and Things, but I too was skeptical. Now I'd be willing to try them! Thanks!

I had my step-daughter pick some up for me last night at our walmart. The bottles were $3. and the filter were $2. a package. Check at a walmart near you, call them and ask for the plumbing dept.

We were just at our local Shoppers Food Warehouse. They had all the Britta bottle filters marked $3.00 each on clearance. I picked up 10 2 packs of these for us, but they had plenty more if anybody is interested. I would be happy to buy them and ship them at cost just PM me.

I stopped by today after reading this thread and my CVS had some.

I posted last week, I found them at our local CVS and Kroger for $7.99. The filters two pack was $7.99, too.

I've tried looking for these all over but can't find any so I've basically given up ever finding these at Walmar, CVS, or anywhere else for that matter. However, other than extra weight, has anyone carried bottled water in the park?

Neat ours at CVS were $8 but I still have the receipt if I can find them at Shoppers. I found one at Giant Food but there was no price and I didnt feel like hunting someone down for a price check but the filters were $7.99 so the bottle probably was too. Walmart near me doesn't have them. I really hate paying $8 for the water bottle. I guess it's better in the long run:)

tamu91,

Yes, we carry bottled water on every trip. There are 4 of us and we each carry an insulated holder with a strap (holds the smaller bottles). DH carries extra bottles, usually 6-8 of them, and yes, they're heavy! By mid-day his load is usually much lighter as we use up the bottles. This year we also had Britas along and used them to refill our bottles (the Britas were too large for our bottle holders). We were amazed at how well they filtered the water.

FYI, DH also wraps the extra bottles in a small towel to absorb the condensation...at the security checkpoint he was asked to unwrap and show the bottles, but otherwise there was no problem...

After searching high and low, I found these at Brooks Pharmacy and I found one in a CVS - it was in a pretty tattered and dusty box, tho! But bottle was intact. I could not find any in Walmart, Target or any local hardware/plumbing stores.

I am so Glad others are finding them too!!! I felt a little silly being so happy but one way to help with the expenses can't hurt. :cool1:

The first time we went to WDW during the summer we spent a fortune on bottled water. (My husband was a camel in a previous life.) Tried the fountain water for refills and it was UGHHHHH!!! Then read about the Brita bottles on the Dis. On the next trip tried them and I thought Disney had somehow changed their water supply. I couldn't believe the Brita filter could make such a big difference. So sad they are discontinued. Thanks to all who are posting possible places to purchase! And I do agree with whoever suggested we should market the new Dis water bottle. Sign me up!

HELP! My boyfriend and I are heading down to WDW in September. I've been looking HIGH and LOW for them and can't find any up here in New England. Any chance someone who's found some near them would be willing to purchase 2 for me and ship them up to me in New England? I would be willing to pay all shipping and handling costs. Send me a PM if you are willing. Thanks!!!

Does the filter actually remove the Sulfa??? [not sure what the correct chemical they use in their water is--I think it is a sulfa derivitive]......I was wondering if anyone knew this before I purchased one.

TIA!!!

I don't know the details but I do know it removes the bad taste of the fountain water at Disney BUT it doesn't remove certain germs that you could get in certain waters like the sink water in the bathroom as an example. It's meant to improve the taste but not get rid of the germs. They do have special filters that do that at camping shops.

Hope this helps!

Have you tried the Ace and True Value Hardware stores near you? I tried all the Wal-marts, Targets... in my area and came up dry. Thought to try Ace and found 2 very dusty boxed bottles. :cool1: They were more expensive, ($10.50) but will pay for themselves after 4 bottles of water at WDW.

If I come across any, I certainly will. Did you try Stop and Shop, CVS and also Walmart and Kamart? I got mine last Summer at Walmart but I also saw them at Stop & Shop in the soda/water aisle.

Another option which I did was buy a filter that fits into a regular water bottle. Look here. I brought this filter to WDW with a regular empty water bottle I bought at Stop & Shop that came with an insulated cover and I LOVED it! It really works. The cover can strap to a belt or fanny pack. That website also has regular filter and bottle very similar to Brita.

EUREKA! I found some online via e-bay. Thanks for all of the ideas!
