I have a relative coming across from California to Scotland soon and I was going to ask if she could bring me a Cuttlebug.

For those of you who already own one, can I ask..

1. In its packaging, would it be heavy/bulky for her to carry? Do you think it would be ok in her suitcase in he hold?

2. I've spotted a deal on a website for it at $32.99....but with shipping costs of $21 ( to her in LA). Do you think that is a good price?
Here in the UK its about £60 or $120.:scared1:

TIA for any help!:flower3:

The packaging isn't the heavy part for a Cuttlebug...the c'bug itself is heavy!! It should be fine in a suitcase, but realize that it will take up a pretty good chunk of the weight she's allowed to carry on. They weigh 11.8 pounds in the original packaging. The c'bug itself is a lot smaller than the packaging and to be honest, I don't think it would hurt it any, were she to take it out of the box and bring it "loose" in her suitcase. If you really want the box she could always pack that part flat or something.

I have seen that price before online somewhere-she might do better to find it at JoAnn Fabrics or Hobby Lobby or something and using a 40% off coupon on it.

Hope that helps ;)

I wouldn't mind at all if she threw away the packaging, I just don't want to ask her in case its too heavy....but I really would lik one!

So you can use coupons against Cuttlebugs? :confused3 Maybe I was reading that you can't use them against a Cricut. (I plan to buy one of them too, but I'll wait till I come over to Florida in July.)

OK thanks GBShorts. I'm off to see f I can get a price at Michaels or Jo-Ann's online.:cool1:

Correction, $55 with shipping from one website.

Joann's s is quoting $67.49. How do you get coupon's from JoAnns? Is it in the local paper or by email?

Can't get a price for Michaels. Anyone help?

TIA

I want to say it's 89$ regular price at michaels. You can use your 40% off coupop on the cuttlebug. I bought mine at creativexpress because it was 35$ (and 11$ for shipping) so it was pretty much the same as using a coupon. maggie

Thanks for the reply:thumbsup2
Creative Express is now showing $69.99 plus shipping. Custom Crops seems to be the best so far.

Now I just need to ask Auntie!:scared1:

Warn her about the weight. It's going to feel REALLY heavy to her but in reality, like I said, it's under 12 pounds.

Hopefully she isn't planning on packing bricks or anything in her suitcase and she can stick under that 40pound weight limit (I think that's the weight limit now. maybe 50?)

i would be glad to bring one to you if you pay for my ticket to scotland!

The cuttlebug should be fine in a suitcase - take it out of the box - wrap some clothes around it and it should be fine - dont forget to ask her to pick you up some of the disney dies for it (can you get them over seas?)
once she checks her suitcase in - she wont have to carry it around.
have fun with it. i love mine.

Yeah no problem Jennifer! I guess you'll want a seat in First Class? Would you like to bring family with you as well??:lmao:

Seriously though, I really envy your prices over there. With the small Cricut still around $350-$400 equivalent here, the expression almost $660 and cartridges $100 a time! Is it any wonder that British crafters stock up while on vacation.

It should mean that I have less stash and my room should be tidier though.

My guess is she'll have a rolling suitcase so I wouldn't worry. ;) all is well.

Definitely have her get you some folders and disney dies though. Hobby Lobby has them in stock-haven't seen them at any other chain store yet.

creativexpress.com has the cuttlebug for $35 right now. I don't know what the shipping would be. How much is the B plates going for in your area? You may want your relative to pick up an extra set too.

I just went to creativexpress to check it out and they're out of stock. :(

Aaak. Sorry, I hate when that happens. I don't know how long creativexpress will have it at the $35 price, but I have seen things be out of sock one day and back in stock a few days later on their site.

I just checked and Joann.com has it for $49.99 currently but it may be part of the Presidents Day Sale. Not sure how long that sale will last. Their sizzix dies are currently 40% off.

The cuttlebug has Disney dies? How did I miss these? Isn't the cuttlebug made by Provo Craft? That's a local company for me so the stores around here usually have a good selection of products by them.
