Cuttlebug....Embossing ????s

After seeing some of the great pages posted here with embossing (then finding Disney Cuttlebug dies/embossing folders at Big Lots!), I have decided I have to be able to emboss on my pages.

So, of course, I need help. Is there any way to do any embossing with these without buying the actual Cuttlebug? Is there any other machine you can use the embossing folders in?

And does anyone know where to find one cheap! TIA

I don't know about another machine but I bought mine at Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon.

I've heard that people use the dies in a pasta maker!

It is NOT a Cricut item, so you should be able to use a 40% or 50% coupon on it at a store like AC Moore, Michael's or Joann's.

The cuttlebug is usually the cheapest with a 40-50% off coupon but you can also use Sizzix Big Kick, Sizzix Big Shot and Wizzard machines. A lot depends on your preference of machines.

Thanks everyone for the info. This is what I was looking for - I am going to try craigslist and ebay first to see if I can find a used machine.

Hey, I have a pasta machine I don't use it a whole lot because a) its really heavy (and in a high cupboard so i need either a man or a chair) and b) because I get bored rolling the dough But if I could use it for embossing......... Don't the plates crack?

Before I got the cuttlebug I sandwiched the plates and paper like you normally would, then put a piece of fun foam over the plates to protect them and give it some cushion. Then use a rolling pin over the stack. I only did this with the embossing plates, so I'm not sure if it works with the cutting dies. Believe it or not it really works! HTH!

Sounds like something I need to try (its easier to hide plates than a machine)
