Cutting in line..

Of course I can't say 100% of the people behind me in line had valid FP for the current time - but in front of me were all people with current FP's and I was at least 30 people back. I have no real reason to assume those behind M's were any different then those in front - and it was basically a single file line - fairly obvious it wa a line - maybe two people wide in some places. If the line mived though and you weren't johnny on the spot about moving forward? You were getting cut in front of.

There is no doubt in my mind - having been there - that:

A. There was a line of valid FP holders
B. The cutters knew they were cutting and didn't care

I stayed close enough to the party in front of us to prevent cutting - and it was only me and 5 year old or I could easily see parties being split up by cutters.

Long time ago, I was in line for Small World with family and 4 adult men acted like they were "catching up" with someone but then they just stopped in between our family, which made it really obvious that they weren't. None of us said anything to them and then they began realizing that we were all together and had them sandwiched in. It was so weird, my grandmother kept saying "these men, are they with us? who are these men? are they with us?" She was older and so confused. And then my aunt was saying "no mom, they just cut in line." And she kept repeating it louder and louder to grams to embarrass them. We all ended up going in the same boat. The whole time it was really awkward. But we tell this story a lot when the family gets together.

ah yes the shame them into not cutting try. i take the bus everyday and there is always some jerk who wants to cut the line. once one person speaks up everyone does and they are basically shamed into going to the back of the line. well if not shamed, i think they see the torches being lit. :rotfl2: i think in disney what is different is it is often a GROUP of people cutting the line making it harder to shame them and intimidate them but in this case they got stuck in a larger group. :lmao:

what i can see happening if fights break out is what six flags does, line lifeguards, people who just sit there and watch the lines. the penalty if caught? kicked out without a refund, thats it, hit em where it hurts the most :thumbsup2

Had it happen just today. A family of 3 came up through us in line, just saying "excuse me, excuse me". No explanation, but tried to give the benefit of the doubt that they were joining a group (STILL not acceptable to me, but..). But when we saw them up in front of us in line, it did not appear that they were speaking to anyone around them. Wow. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it.

As far as I know there is no line to get in line. That confuses me. This is just a line to show your FP. I've definitely seen groups of people standing around to waste time while they wait for their time.

Would that be the line you are referring to? Since it was pretty much single file it moved quickly - honestly it wasn't a big deal to wait. I see space mountain line out the door and down the area in front of it all the time - both FP and standby.

Last week (i think - it may have been two weeks now) anyway - the safari had a rope off show you FP line that had a CM stationed there saying not to get in line unless your FP was good - she was checking too - so it was like a double FP checking area. The line was really only 10 minutes from checking FP in the pre line to the real initial check to the FP taker to riding. So really it wasn't bad but it looked horrid with the roped off line for FP return outside.

Does that make sense? I mean no one would have expected to join that roped line in the middle - yet this had no rope so people felt free to jump in any place there was enough space to stand.

sue ellen, thanks for coming back to clarify. so in that case, it was cutting. I just have never seen a long line to show your FP to the CM out front. (and yes, that's what I meant by a line to get in line, i.e., the fast pass line.)

it sound like the way they have it at the safari is better, with the rope, and a CM telling you to NOT get in it until your FP is valid.

the way I pictured it (and, as mesaboy agreed with me, I was probably overthinking it;)) was a line of people waiting to show their fastpasses, many of whom were there early and waiting for their window to open up. (I thought this since I often see numerous people standing around waiting for that.) kris4360 understood what I meant, anyway!:worship:::yes::

Once again, who says it's against the rules?? You?

Your kidding arn't you. To ask who says its against the rules!!! It's just common everyday coutesy and without it there would be chaos!! I hope you are not a parent after asking a question like that.

Exactly! Common courtesy, not a rule!!

Is this thread still going? :confused3 Basically this thread can be summed up:

1. Some people cut lines
2. Some people don't cut lines

Unless you have a dungeon to throw them into to, it's going to keep happening. You're at Disney World. Stop sweating the small stuff, you'll still get to ride SM, PP, EE, meet the Princesses/Mickey or whoever.

I have no problem with several (3) people joining somebody else in line in front of me. I would rather them join somebody than have their children cry and complain about waiting the entire time.

The Unofficial Guide to Disney World actually recommends having one parent wait in the line.

You can tell who the "cutters" are in this thread

Eh, or the arguers. I don't leave lines to pee but don't have a problem with those who do. :) you can assume very little about others, really. while someone may see the other side of the story and discuss something from that side doesn't mean they partake in the behavior.

:thumbsup2 I've done it! When nature calls, you answer :rotfl: However I've only done it twice, both long character lines which are much easier in general to get out of than ride lines, especially when the characters are meeting outside. :confused3

I have had it a few times and I just let them go. If Disney is not going to enforce their rules, how do I have a leg to stand on?

I've done it. The time that springs to mind was a super hot day at DisneySea. We were in a long line that overflowed its queue. Across the way was a castmember selling those yummy frozen fruit juice bars. I left the line to buy a few and then returned to it so my wife and I cod enjoy the frozen yumminess. I didn't feel guilty then and I still don't.
