One year we were there the day before they closed IASW to take down the Christmas stuff. We had just gotten to the line and my youngest said he has to go to the bathroom. He has Type 1 diabetes and if he is running high when he has to go it is all of a sudden and he has to go now. So I sent my oldest with him to the bathroom while DH and I stood in line. There wasn't anyone behind us at the time but when they came back there was a line forming behind us. Well the guy behind us started ranting about how my kids were cutting and what kind of example was I showing them. That is why the lines are so long because people are always cutting. We just let it go especially since this was the first year DS was diagnosed and I would probably cry if I did say anything. So when we got to the front of the line around an hour later the guy behind us actually tried to get us kicked off of the ride.We explained to the CM what had happened. She just looked at the man and smiled while directing us to the next boat.
So it bothers me when it is a whole group of people but when it is a couple you never know the reason why they weren't there to begin with.
Yes, it would be the same wait time, however if they were there all along, you would be eexpecting an extra wait. It's so frustrating to know that while you were spending your time in line, someone in front of you was holding a place for all their family members while they were off riding something else.
I don't mind if its 1 or two people, but often times I notice a mom or dad waits in the line, while everyone else goes off to do something else. Plus, some of the line queues are not that roomy, and I hate having to smoosh against it to let these people go by!

I think it is funny that everyone says that the little kids have to use the bathroom, when in truth, our bladders might be worse! HA HA!!!! Well, mine sure is...it just kinda comes on and bam...must go NOW!!!

To the OP, I think to me it sounds as though the group of people got in line WITHOUT the rest of the party which I think is unfair. It's different if you're already in line and oops the kids have to pee, but completely different if you're 4 adult ladies who tell everyone else go get in line we'll catch up. That is rude.
I've cut in line before, I admit it. It was on Toy Story. Dh had to pee, my sister ran and got in line and I waited with Dh, I can't remember why. Then when we got to Toy Story the line was so long that we got in the back of the line and eventually the line wrapped around and we were right beside my sister so we ducked under the bar.
Fortunately the lady behind her just laughed.
It seems that its subjective as to when its ok to let someone join in the line. True line cutters though should never be allowed. DD and I were in line at Indy on day and a group of teens were exiting. They saw a break in the line, and hopped in. There was a younger couple in front of DD and I and they were to shy to say anything. But this was blantant cutting. They just got off the ride, and now by cutting saved at least an hour in line. When we got up to the CM, I told on them. They were removed from line and I don't know what happened after that. They were with a high school group as they all had the same school shirt on. The couple in front of DD and I thanked us. They said they wanted to say something, but were to scared to. Not me though.
You are the bomb!
Thank you. But it was just the right thing to do.
