Cutting ceremony music down...

How are you cutting yours?

I am one of those people that when I am getting ready to get out of my car and it is a song I love, I have to sit and listen to the WHOLE thing before I can get out. The thought of cutting my songs down to reasonable times for our processional is killing me.

Here are the songs we picked...

For DF, Officiant, BM and 1 Groomsmen.
Keith Urban-Making Memories of Us
4 minutes long!

For the MOH, 1 bridesmaid, 2 flowergirls that will walk down together and the ringbearer I am playing a 1 min clip from wishes so that should be fine.

For me, the song is 4:45 honking minutes long.
Ben Folds-The Luckiest

Do we hold and then walk in? The thought of just having the songs faded wherever just makes me wanna yak.

Oh and then for our recessional we are having
Paul McCartney - Maybe I'm Amazed

What about the sand ceremony? IS that a whole song or a short snippet.

Any advice is appreciated!!!

I didn't want to fade either, so I just told the sound tech to play each whole song. It meant that DH kinda stood around at the altar for about a minute(but his song was under 3 minutes long, I think). My planner helped me and my dad time things, so we waited until about 30 seconds into our song until we started walking.

I avoided doing music within the ceremony cuz I'd heard one bride report that the tech skipped the mid-ceremony song she'd requested and then played it as her recessional, which I totally didn't want. So I thought I'd make it as easy as possible by just having music at the beginning and the end.

But I can see why you'd want music over a sand ceremony, and I'm sure your WP can explain to the tech how you want to do it. Also, you can put it all over your BEO - that helps. I think for that you could play the whole song because listening to it is part of the ceremony - it's not just background filler.

Like you, I did not want any of the songs cut, but looking back, I don't think most people would have noticed if we'd faded them out. What I'd really wanted to do was edit them down, but once I got into the software to do it, I couldn't bear to cut anything!

I think I am going to leave them and just hold before walking. It is our only ceremony music, as we nixed the sand ceremony, just a rose ceremony. And I have been stressing out finding the "perfect" songs for us and like you, I wanted to edit but I cannot bear too.

I need to just take this off my list of stuff to stress out over even though no one but me is going to notice anyways and move on. The list is long enough anyways.
