Day 9

Dixie woke us at 7.30am with rainbow toast and blue powerade in bed. After breakfast we quickly dressed and ran to the taxi rank where I got a taxi to the Florida mall and Cuthbert and the children went to Seaworld. I arranged to collect them again at 1.37pm.

I had a wonderful time shopping and managed to purchase numerous items for myself and some designer shoes for the children to wear to school. Unfortunately nowhere had anything in Cuthbert’s size.

I collected the family after my shopping and on the way back to the Popular place they told me all about their morning. They found the best plan of attack was to split up and do their own thing. This is what each person told me they had done:

Dixie: "It was really cool. First of all I went on Kraken and it was awesome and really fast then I went on Journey to Atlantis and then saw the Shamu show and checked out the dolphins and I even fed them some fish. I went on the polar bear simulator thing which was nice then I rode the big rides again before meeting dad and Amos".

Apparently Shuma has departed for pastures new and they have purchased a new whale and called him Shamu in the hope that visitors don't realise he is different.

Cuthbert: "I arranged to meet the children at the entrance at 1.30pm and then I got a map and headed to the Clydesdale horse enclosure where they give you free samples of beer. It was wonderful. I met up with a group from AA and got all their samples too. Spent the whole morning here and returned to the entrance to get the children to ensure we were on time for Veronica!!!"

Amos: "I saw nice birds that were pink and had long legs and I watched them. The sign said they were called pink flamingos. I watched them all morning. I want mummy to purchase one for me. I didn’t have time to do anything else".

When I got back to Seaworld they were all waiting for me. I knew instantly that Dixie had had fun as she had 4 shopping bags full of goodies for herself, I am so proud of the way she is developing. I do worry about Amos, he wants a pink bird that the pet shops don’t sell. I shall have a look on Ebay and get him one for his birthday unless he forgets about it.

Once we returned to the Popular place I sent Cuthbert to the cupboard with all the shopping and then we got back into the taxi to go to the Magical Kingdom as it is our last day. We went on the boat this time at Amos’s request and Cuthbert vomited as we disembarked. Once we got into the park I sent Cuthbert to find us a place for the parade and I would be along soon.

He thought I was going to purchase a stroller but he was very very wrong. I had spotted something in here yesterday and Cuthbert’s face was a picture when I pulled up alongside him in a little electric car. It even had a basket for the children. The hired help went into frenzied mode when I stopped, apparently my car couldn’t be on the road during the parade. I tried to reverse onto the pavement but the kerb was a hindrance so we had to be moved to a slope on the pavement and then escorted to the parade parking lot. What a beautiful view we had.

When the parade finished I drove into the Main Street to get a photograph of Cinderella’s castle. It was blatantly obvious what I was trying to do but do people move! Well, they do when you crash into them in your electric car. I only had to hit 6 persons before everyone else got the message! Photo complete we were ready to move on. Dixie wanted to ride the Haunted house so I popped Amos into the basket and off we drove. Dixie stood on the back of my car and Cuthbert sat on my knee. Cuthbert and Amos blocked my view slightly so we did hit a few persons on the way but we apologised and they seemed fine.

Cuthbert cried in the room of the doom when the walls moved. I told him we would be trapped forever and ever and ever. I had to help him to the doom car as he was shaking so much. I gave him a little vitamin pill to calm his nerves and he was fine when we got off. Amos screamed the whole time we were in here and this woman had the nerve to tell me I was a bad mother for bringing him in when he was so obviously scared. I told her to mind her own business, he was fine in the queue and how did she expect him to overcome his fear of the dark if he wasn't exposed to it!!! Honestly some persons!! Cuthbert and I had reservations for dinner at the Grand Floridian at Albert and Victoria’s so we arranged to meet the children later, they would stay at the Magical Kingdom. We drove down to the entrance in my car and then I gave the keys to Dixie.

Cuthbert and I had a lovely meal at the Grand Floridian, it was so nice to mix with persons like ourselves. We enjoyed many a drink in the restaurant and left after paying our bill of $756. We returned to the Magical Kingdom in time to see the parade with all the coloured light bulbs. Dixie had found a space for us in the parade parking lot and once again we had a great view. The parade was beautiful. I danced with a wolf, and the dwarves. Grumpy pointed at Cuthbert and made gestures that they were twins. I think he was just upset that we were leaving tomorrow. After the parade had finished Cuthbert went and purchased us all drinks and a snack from the bakery and then we turned to face the castle and waited for Wishes fireworks.

The fireworks were beautiful. Amos was scared of the noise so he put his head in the car basket and was fine. I found the music very moving and then realised that I had my foot on the accelerator, don’t fret, I didn’t go far thanks to the people in front. When the fireworks were complete I found myself crying. I cried for 37 minutes, I think it was a combination of having had dinner in the Grand Floridian knowing I had lowered myself to stay in the Popular place. Cuthbert said I should be grateful for staying there as some people have never been. I growled at him and then drank the blue powerade coffee Dixie had got me and I felt much better.

We had time for one more ride so we went to the Buzz Lightyear shoot a stranger ride. I had a terrible time in the queue, my car kept getting stuck when I tried to drive round the corner of the railings. Eventually a hired help person told me to go on the ride and he would have the car waiting for me at the exit. I won this ride. Cuthbert only shot me as he was in the green thing behind me with the children. He turned green too as Dixie kept spinning them round in two different directions of a circle.

Had a drive through the shops as we left and I knocked over a couple of displays but the shop wasn’t very busy as the park was closing so it gave the hired help something to do. Returned my car to the garage and then we went to the bus station and we walked for miles to the Popular stop. We managed to get a seat at the front. Unfortunately Cuthbert lost his seat when the driver got onto the bus, said something about how he needed it.

When we returned to our room we found the luggage persons had delivered all my little suitcases to the cupboard, there was hardly any room left for us to get in. I was going to go to the bar to make more room in the cupboard but Cuthbert said I was to pack seeing as how I had purchased most of the ****** extra items we had accumulated. I blamed Dixie and Amos turned into that Super Nanny woman again and allocated us all jobs. After 4 hours of arguing and defending the purchases we were all packed. We had 47 little suitcases, twelve large cases and Amos’s ****** monorail set. Cuthbert started to cry. I told him to pull himself together and he said there was no gifts for him. I felt guilty so I told him he could have the passport cover I had purchased for Yasmin and I would get her something else at the airport. This cheered him up and he went to sleep happy once we had moved the luggage off our bed. The children slept in the bath (without water) as their bed was unreachable.

Im surprised the children were able to sleep in the bath after all those additives in the gatorade and rainbow toast. The poor dears must have been hyper!
I look forward to reading about your return to England and getting all your purchases through customs on a £145 allowance each! :rolleyes2 :)
