Anybody have kids that constantly mispronounce words and think it is think it is the CUTEST???? My DS8 says "I'll be back in a jippy" instead of back in a jiffy... and DD1 says "bica-bica-bic-ahhhhhhhhh" for tinkerbelle. I just can'tcorrect them..it's waaaayyyyy too cute! :p

When my sister was little, she used to eat contato chips and mashed contatoes. She doesn't believe us now, but we all remember her saying it.

My DD used to say, M E C instead of let me see.

Sure, there's a time and a place for correcting things, but when they're little and they say things like that it is TOO cute!

DS asked me the other day what prindle meant. We were in the car. He pointed at the dashboard and said, "yes, what does prindle mean?" I looked down and said, "oh, you mean park, reverse, neutral, drive, 3rd gear and low (PRND3L) mean?" It's funny how he thought that it was a word printed on the dash. He'll be 11 in 2 weeks.

My DS is 4 (& very delayed) & he LOVES Bon Jovi's music. (Wonder why??) :teeth: Anyway, he always asks me "can I hear Bon Jobi now?"

We were looking at our December Disney photos a few days ago & he said that he liked "Cindawina." :rotfl:

Another song he likes is by Barry Manilow....it's called "Coka Capana" ~ oh boy...I think that is soooo cute. Especially to hear him sing it using that word! I never correct him with those words because it is adorable & I think it won't be forever!!

When my older son was about 4/5 years old, he used to take Pi-nano lessons (not Piano). :teeth:

I'm going to enjoy this thread!

Soo cute!

My DS 3 still messes his pronouns up, but I need to start correcting him. He always says things like "Hers a cute kitty" I love that!!!

He is just silly and says "Spongebob two pants"

He must be obsessed with the word "Two" because he has a truck that sings the Queen song that goes "You big Disgrace, waving your flag all over the place" and he says "You big twoscrace, running around all over the place".

DD used to say potatoes for egg yolks!

My four year old says "han-gumber" instead of hamburger. He used to say "snerkle" instead of snorkle. And in a Dora the Explorer episode there's an owl called La Lechusa and he always called it "ya-may-dusa" and would just use that word in place of other things. This was back when he was 3 though and doesn't do that anymore.

My little guy (almost 4) says "bunt" for button, I know its silly, but I think its so cute, I never correct him, and I even use that word too.

Aw, I miss those days. My oldest used to call hamburger "hangaber" and in a book about a skunk we would read he always called it a "snuck". Middle son called pop tarts "topparts" until he was nearly 10.

DS asked me the other day what prindle meant.
:teeth: :goodvibes That is just too cute!

My DD, for the longest time, said "ack least" instead of at least.

DS 6 can't say ranch dressing or wrench. He asks for granch dressing. When he is playing with his tools he isn't using a wrench, he is using a granch. :rotfl: Sometimes he says awefuls instead of waffles.

When DD was little we took her to SeaWorld. After we got home we were watching a video that we made while we were there. On the video you can hear her and my mom talking. Then you hear her say "GRANDMA, look at the FLINGOS!" My mom says those are FLAMINGOS sweety. DD says, "That's what I said, FLINGOS!" :lmao:

My son says "wash mouth" instead of mouth wash and "walking side" instead of side walk. He also says "feel how hard my heart is beeping (beating). I think it's cute and don't correct him.

My DS7 still calls the remote a "marote" and even though he's old enough, my DH & I just can't correct him on that one. He's already getting too old too fast and it makes me smile every time he says it. So cute.

Also, DD3 calls poodles "ploodles"...very cute too.

:rotfl2: My son says "beeping" instead of "beating" too. When he gets really nervous, he says his heart is beeping like he's in the school play. :rotfl:

I think my nieces come up with something funny every day. My 5 year old niece calls penguins "penglins". It is so funny. And we tried saying, "No, it's PEN-GWIN." And she goes, "PENG....GLIN." TOO funny. And my niece (3) is still in a stage where most "c" sounds come out like "t" sounds. The other day she said, "Me so tired of toudy days." We couldn't figure it out. She was getting so frustrated with us, and finally she shouts, "You know, like, not SUNNY days, TOUDY days!!!" We were rolling!!

Currently my twin 5 year old boys' favorite disney movie is "Snow White and the Seven Dorks." They're not being sarcastic, they don't know how to saw dwarfs.

And they still call cupcakes PUPcakes.

When they were younger they would say "soft" for touch or pet...as in "I want to soft the kitty."

And this is a strange one that they picked up from the Disney Hercules movie a couple of years ago...

anytime they saw a sword or knife for a villan or hero they would call it a "too close." As in, "I can't find Peter Pan's too close". I had no idea how they got the idea that was the name for a sword until one day I saw in the Hercules movie he grabbed his sword and at the same time say something like, "That was too close." I finally had to break down and tell them the real name for a "too close."

I guess my kids watch too many disney movies!

So is this a boy thing? My son does this too! Also, "cool incidence" for coincidence...

My son also used to say "Catch it to me" instead of "Throw it to me".
And he STILL says "out of balance" instead of "out of bounds."
Gotta love them!

When I was a teenager, a good friend had a little sister who couldn't pronounce the hard 'k' sound, as in cat. Instead of k, she would make the 't' sound, so cat was tat, cold was told, etc.

She loved cats, so anytime one would walk by, we'd show her, she'd get all excited and yell, "A kitty!" Instead she made the t sound instead of the k sound. We teenagers thought this was hilarious.

My DS4 and my DD7 were having a conversation about getting married one day when my DS4 told my DD that he was going to marry me, his mommy. Well, DD7 told him that he couldn't marry me because I am his mom and you can't marry your mom or your sister. So he thought about it for a little while and then said he was going to marry this little girl in his preschool class. He said that when he got older he was going to move into her house and that she would "lay some babies" and they would be a family!! LOL!!

My 2 year old DGD was spinning in a circle last night and got dizzy and stopped and said "Gammo, your house is falling down!" :rotfl:
