Can anyone give me suggestions for interacting with the characters? I know things like to do a tick-tock sound with Capt. hook, or you could bounce for Tigger, etc.

I was just wondering what else might get neat responses from the characters?

Thanks!

Kim

When we went to DL last summer we ran into the evil witch from Snow White. My son (never one to miss an opportunity) grabbed an apple we had in our snack bag, ran up to her and said "Would you like a taste of this delicious apple?" :lmao: I could tell she really got a kick out of that and we got a great photo! (see below)

They also love it when you are wearing t-shirts w/ them on it. My DS had a Toy Story shirt on last year & I have a cute pic of Woody showing Buzz DS's shirt.

Both our boys have hats, one has a goofy baseball hat and the other has a pluto hat. The characters always have some fun with the boys, either pretending to throw it away or put it on, you get the idea. It always brings a smile to 2DS and they have taken the hats with them every trip and never seem to get tired of the clowning around.

To collect character autographs on my holiday in May I found a neat little note book - no lines - which had Mickey on every page (very pale in the background)....Donald pretended to sulk and tell me off for having Mickey and not him and Minnie Mouse kept kissing the page as she was signing it!!

Pluto saw my "1st Visit" badge and bounced around a lot hugging me and stuff....

Oh and my boyfriend kissed Minnie's hand and she hugged him and wouldn't let go!!

I think if you just have some fun and forget that they are "characters" you'll have a great time and the magic will just take over!!

At Cinderella's breakfast last time, my boys had a great time asking Belle what her favorite book is, but the best response was after asking Mary Poppins if she could say Supercalifragalisticexpialadoshis" backwards. I won't spoil her answer!

I once told Aladin his girlfriend was hot, he stopped dead in his tracks and responded,"that's my wife". i was embarrassed and apologized, he then gave me a wink. my wife got a kick out of it too.
i also told grumpy to 'cheer up', and he raised his fist playfully towards me.

the best thing I find is to really ask them questions. before my kids - 6 and 3years mind you - get up there we have there questions preparred. We are working on them now for our july trip. If you ask them cute or interesting questions they will spend a lot more time with you.
Last year we asked gepetto what he made in the park. and he procedded to take us around main street (disneyland) to show us benches and light poles etc. then Alice wondered what the fuss was about and led my girls to the main entrance to stand wiht her while she signed others books. it was the best.

On my last trip we saw King Louie, So I begged my fsil, to give me her banana I gave it to him as a joke, and he ran away with it!!! The four of us were almost falling on the ground laughing.

On one of our trips to disney when I was a kid, I decided to draw a honey pot in my autograph book, thinking that Pooh could sign his name inside of it.

I ended up standing next to Pooh cracking up for quite some time before he stopped licking my autograph book :rotfl:

I told Stitch to behave as we were walking away and ran up and tickled me, the kids thought this was hilarious!

ETA Oh yeah and Donald was "furious" that DS$ had Mickey ears on at CM and then signed his book Donald Duck #1

I don't know if the Chesire (sp?) cat is a charactor but I would like to ask him if he drinks evaporated milk!

They love when you have a stuffed plushie of them with you.

Once when we were having dinner at Chef Mickey's, when Chip came to our table & saw DS's stuffed Chip on the table, he went off running with it & kept it during the little parade they do. DS just followed right behind Chip.

It's happened other places too...just this past May, while we were eating at 'Ohanas, Stitch came over & grabbed DS's stuffed Stitch off our table.

These are great ideas. I will have to use some of them.. Thanks for this post!

Not Disney I know, but one of my best memories of Orlando is having Scooby Do shout "Scooby Snacks" at me and then run after me for the pack of Oreo's I had!

I grabbed Tigger's hand and started bouncing - he bounced right back. I found Sitch and started ballroom dancing with it an d it danced with me. Great fun!!

I know this sounds too easy but just being polite really gets you far.

I know when my son asked Peter Pan if he could please have his autograph Peter was shocked. He told my son that he was the first child that day who asked. He said most just push the book in his face. He then proceeded to talk to him about Never Never Land and what was new witht the lost boys. Peter talked to my son for about 3 minutes. Another time same day we saw Captain Hook and Mr. Sneed (Is that his name?). When we walked up to the line their disney chapreone told everyone that Captain Hook needed a break after us. My son told the chaperone "I can wait if Captain Hook needs a break." Captain Hook heard this, came over gave my son a huge hug and we took a picture. He then proceeded to keep his arm around my son's neck and the three (Captain Hook, Mr. Sneed and my son) walked together down the street together to where Captain Hook took his break (Quite a walk). Let me tell you my son STILL talks about his walk with Captain Hook!

I can just imagine what behaviors some of these characters have to endure! It is sad!
