I was just flipping through my Family Fun magazine that arrived today and saw a cute idea for a child ID tag. A lady had written in with an example of what she did for her daughter. She used colorful beads and beads with letters and numbers to string together a neckace that said "If found please call my parents at XXX-XXX-XXXX." and included their cell phone #. She said her daughter loved wearing her "special necklace" too. :) I don't see my DS wanting to wear a necklace but I may make him a bracelet with just our # and tell him to show it to a cm if he gets lost. He could wear it either on his wrist or through a belt loop.

What a great idea - thanks for sharing!

I haven't gotten my new Family Fun yet- I just LOVE that magazine!

I received my Family Fun yesterday and saw that last night. What a great idea. And it is something that you can sit down and do with your children. My DD (5) will love to put that together and she will know what it says in case of an emergency.

what is the family fun? I take it is a magazine, but where do you sign up for that?

They have a site online Family Fun .

I was planning on making those bracelets for my 3 kiddos. I think it would be cute and helpful just in case someone gets away from me.

Yes it is a Magazine. And it loaded with cool fun things to do with your children. It has all different kinds of projects from baking, crafts and places to go.

It is a must have at my house.

I LOVE Family Fun! -- Our DD was turning 2 on our last trip and I need a tag that she couldn't remove. I went to one of those pet id things (about the size of a vending maching) and made her a tag in the shape of a heart. I put her name (it was small enough that someone couldn't read it with out getting right up on it), our cell #, and a # for someone back home (in case our cell wasn't picking up) We attached it to the laces of her shoes.
It worked well and was pretty cheap.
