Since we've had kids, I've always sent out a Christmas letter each year. For several years I sent out a crossword puzzle, and for the past two years, I sent out an "I Spy" Christmas letter (I took a pic that looked like it was from the "I Spy" books with little objects hidden in it that told about our year, and included a poem that had people search for the objects). I'd like to do something new this year, but I'm all out of cute ideas. Anybody have cute Christmas letter ideas?? TIA!!--Katie

Those are such great ideas! Last year I did Our Family's Top Ten Merriest Moments http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90/momiilu/Christmas/2008/Our2008ChristmasLetter.jpg

in 2006 I wrote our letter in the shape of a tree http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90/momiilu/Christmas/2006/PomijechristmasNote.jpg

I know those are as cute as your ideas but thats what I've done in the past :)

Since everyone sends letters about how wonderful everything is in their world, my DH has always done just the opposite. His is always a comedy letter. He writes about bad (because its funny and unbelievable) things about work, around the house, bad things the dogs did, how against the norm the kids were this year, how our old dog (who died in 1995) is still deceased. Writes about if we, or one of the kids, wrecked the car, broke a window, did something really dumb, etc. Just funny stuff no one puts in their annual letter. He closes the letter with being thankful that we are all here...through all the craziness of the year, and not part of a thinned out herd.

He's always gotten rave reviews. Friends and family look forward to his annual letter, to get a great laugh.

We got a letter a couple years ago that was really cute. It was written from the family cat's perspective of everything that happened all year.
The same family sent one last year that was printed like a newpaper and had articles about different things teh family did together and short ones about each person.

I did this one year, after receiving the typical brag letter - about how terrible a soccer player dd is, how our house is falling apart, our ds's fondness for ballet tutu's - went over very well!
