Cut the Grass or Mow the Lawn?

How do you refer to that thing you do that shortens the length of the strands of grass on your property?

We say...cut the grass, at our house.

and take care of it ...but then we would have to scoop up the left overs......but in our neck of the woods.......we mow the lawn....hubby is going to do it tomorrow.....cause we are both computering right now ...before we have our family over for Mothers day Supper......have a good one regardless of what you do to that green stuff.......

Up here in the Northeast I say it both ways, depends on how long it is and how frustrated I am getting with DS or DH! Although, my threats of going to do it myself usually send them into a panic and they will get right on it! Before you laugh too loud, it is because of all of the knee surgeries I have had and I think they don't want to listen to me moan after!!

I say cut the grass because DH thinks mow the lawn has a totally different meaning

We just refer to it as "calling the grass people."

We don't mow or cut, it just magically gets done each week by the lawnmower fairies who show up while we're at work!

We say "cut the grass" most of the time. This thread brought up a cute memory for me. My son, who is now 17 years old, used to call a lawn mower a "cut-grasser". It made me smile to remember that. Boy, do I wish he was that age again.

My DH says the same. Mow. I say either. He does all the mowing. He bought one of those huge ExMark lawnmowers a few years ago.
