cut off time for lunch/dinner

We are starting to make our ADR's and looking at the menus for some restaurants noticed the lunch and dinner menus are similar but a difference in price (for some). What is the cut off time of the day for lunch in the afternoon and can you order lunch for dinner.

Also, if we are paying cash, and your child is over 9, will the waiter question their age or can anyone order off the childs menu or split an adult meal?(assuming it is not a buffet/family style). Thanks!

There is no set time when all of the restaurants transition from lunch to dinner. It generally happens between 3 and 5 pm and varies by restaurant and time of the year. If you go to the Disney reservation website you can find out the meal times for each day and restaurant. Pretend to make an ADR (select your date of interest and restaurant) and then the next page will tell you the times for each meal (even if there are no available ADRs). If your ADR date is not yet available, pick a date near then and that should give you a pretty good idea of when one meal ends and the next starts.

If the items is on both the lunch and dinner menu, you cannot order the lunch portion at dinner. In most cases, the lunch portion is smaller.

If paying OOP, you can generally order whatever you want. Adults can order off the child's menu and children can order off the adult menu. As you've noted, the exception is for buffets and family style meals, there everyone must order according to their age.

Also many of the TS locations offer a larger version of kid's meals called Junior Meals. They are larger amounts of the same meals for more money. Sorry I don't know the cost as we got them for DD when she was 10 and wanted more raviolis and nuggets and we were on the DDP. They aren't on the menu-just ask your server.
