I hopped on the Disney website yesterday with the idea of ordering a set of the keepsake maps to frame for my son's nursery but, having never ordered them previously, couldn't locate the link. Their FAQ still states:

Q. Can you mail me theme park maps?

A. Yes. We can mail free customized maps to households in the United States. Select your favorite attractions and entertainment—you can even add a magical design theme—and we’ll send you beautiful, keepsake maps.

Order your customized maps today and start planning your Walt Disney World vacation!

You must be 18 years of age or older to order customized maps.

... So I emailed Disney, hoping that they were just doing some site maintenance and that the link was just temporarily broken. Here's the response I received this morning:

We are grateful that you have contacted us with your inquiry. We do
apologize, however customized maps are no longer available for guests to
order on our website. You are welcome to view our interactive maps by
visiting: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/maps/, which is optimized
for viewing on both computers and mobile devices. Maps also may be
viewed and printed by visiting the detail page for each Theme Park or
Downtown Disney and clicking on the Download Printable Map link.

:headache:

That's too bad. Another victim of cost-cutting I guess. My kids always enjoyed the maps, something fun about laying them out on the dining room table and plotting out what we wanted to see.

Honestly, from what I've heard/seen of them, it's kind of surprising that Disney offered them for free as long as they did.

Odd they stopped, as I got an email earlier this month inviting me to create some. Now I wish I had

How sad. :( I've enjoyed ordering a set with the attractions we did visit after the past few trips as keepsakes and had planned to do so again.

I agree. Its really too bad that cost cutting has resulted in yet another loss for visitors. Elimination of another little extra that used to make aDisney vacation just that much more special than other vacations.

Honestly, if most governments had the bean counters that Disney has, there'd be no such thing as a deficit. Too bad the company and its shareholders are hurting so badly that the have to continue to not only raise prices at every turn but also increasingly cut corners and cut back on everything from maintenance to staffing to park amenities. This isn't the Disney we all grew up with. Maybe the time has come to change the name to Iger World, the Stingiest Place on Earth.

Disney ain't hurting......nor it's shareholders.....record earnings for Fiscal year 2014. Iger decided not to retire in 2016, extended it to 2018 and is getting a 60 million dollar bonus in 2018. I would be happy to be hurting like that.

Bummer :( I just ordered them two weeks ago. Hopefully they come!
I ordered them a couple of weeks ago as well. I got a confirmation email so I do hope I get them. We do have a set from a couple of years ago but things have changed a bit in the parks ;)

Maybe the value of mine just went up. Helllllllloooooo e-bay!

I have been searching everywhere on the site for them. Sad to hear they are gone, but thanks for the info I can stop going crazy searching!:badpc:

Haha. I've known you long enough to get the sarc in your tone. Great post! :thumbsup2

Me too. I was going to use them in shadow boxes along with my pins for each ride in the park (I've still got a few more rides to get pins for) and a few pics of my kids in the park when they were young.

If they don't arrive, I guess I can pull out some park maps from my previous trip but I think those got all wrinkled and bent so I'd have to see if I can straighten them out before using them.

Oh man, I'm so glad mine just came in the mail! I also received a link to create a custom family decal, which i did and just got that in the mail too!

I filled out the thing for the decal months and months ago, and it never came. :(

Sheesh. Ordered some for our March trip and never got them, so didn't even bother this time. Missed my chance to have a set for each kid. Oh well, the only fair thing is to keep the one set u have for myself!! LOL

I tried printing the ones out from the website, but they are so small, and you can't read them. Is there any place you can purchase them? We have never been and would like to study them before we go:confused3
