Customization on Mobile Ordering - Am I Missing Something?

When we were at Universal a few weeks ago, the one thing we noticed is that the mobile ordering seemed to lack opportunities for customization. While there were a few things on various items, many of the places didn't have options to limit condiments and/or toppings on burgers, sandwiches, etc. With 3 kids, we had some locations we were unable to visit for this very reason.

Is this just something people have to work around by seeking out places where there is no customization needed, or are we missing something here?

You have to order at the register in that case.
They don't have the kid's menu on mobile order anyway. You also can't use the dining plan on mobile order.
So, for either reason you have to go to the register, and it won't be too weird, not matter how much they want you to use mobile order.

We just demanded to use a register....they didn't like it but we couldn't get cheeseburgers without bacon (for instance) or kids meals on the app. Not sure why a burger restaurant would not have regular cheeseburgers as an option, but I digress (yes, I know it is to upsell, haha). I can't say that they were terribly friendly about it, but there was a constant stream at the register so it appears to be quite common.

With all of the people who have allergies, dietary restrictions, or are just picky eaters in general, you would think they would make some simple customizations possible in the app (like no bacon or leaving off a particular condiment or topping).

Or a text box where you could enter what you needed.

What shocks me is that you can't pay for a mobile order with the dining plan. I get that amusement parks seem to have horrible IT Departments. But, Six Flags allows you to use your dining plan when mobile ordering.

Yep - this blew my mind. Such a simple option that you know exists in their system (they can do it at the register). It is clear they simply didn't want people to have that possibility. If you really want to urge everyone to mobile ordering, you have to do better than this!

We don't do the dining plans but, yes, crazy!

Can you use gift cards to pay on mobile order? I know that wasn't an option at Disney last time we were there, but losing the 5% from buying gift cards at Target gift was OK vs. the length of some of those lines! (Come to think of it, I need to wander over to that page and see if gift cards can be used with Disney mobile order by now)

min case you haven’t looked it up yet gift cards can be used at Disney on mobile order. You just have to enter the gift card number each time you order.
