Customising Magic Bands From The UK

Hi everyone :wave2:

I'm just wondering if anyone else is having issues trying to customise their Magic Bands on the Disney website. I know that they can't be delivered to the UK but before I was able to customise them to be picked up when we checked in. But now when I try to do this it keeps asking for a US address for them to be shipped to. Does this mean that I can't pick the colour I want anymore? Or am I doing something wrong?

I think you might be doing something wrong, I had no problem putting my UK address on ours when I did them a couple of weeks ago. Are you getting an error message? Is it the phone number that is being rejected? If so try putting the number and drop the first '0'

When I try to enter my address there is a drop down box for country which only has options for US, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands :confused3 I tried filling everything else in but it just has an error message saying it wasn't valid. Not sure what I've done! :laughing:
 
OK, just checked the website and see what you mean. I guess if your MDE address is in the UK they will automatically ship them to the hotel. It just saves you having to enter an address. Can you not customise without entering the address though?

Thank you for your responses, I've tried on the website and the app and I still can't get it to work without an address, how did you do it without entering an address?

So, this is what I am doing:

  • Go to www.mydisneyexperience.com
  • Sign in
  • Go to MagicBands and cards (drop down on right hand side) under MyDisneyExperience
  • I see a screen which says 'Customise your order by.....'
  • Click on the right arrow
  • Scroll down, pick a band for each person listed.
Note: Above the list of people on my reservation, I get an option to Edit address - don't even bother clicking on that.

Thank you for this I have managed to sort one lot of our magic bands doing this, we are doing a split stay, but the other one doesn't have the arrow instead it has a button saying get started which is causing me the trouble wanting an address. Totally confused why it lets me do one set and not the others :confused3 Maybe as its a split stay I can't do it?
 
You know that you don't technically need a set of MagicBands for your second stay, don't you? The bands from the first stay will work. I know you probably would like them but it's not the end of the world if it won't let you do the second set.

I know but I still wouldn't mind having all the colours :rolleyes1 :rotfl: I think what I will do is just make sure the set that seems to be customisable is the colour I want the most then just ask them to use that one of the other hotels. I really don't want a bunch of grey ones :crazy2: :laughing: Thanks for your help
 
I have just added our Dec ressie to MDE and went to customise the bands and it had a pop up box which says:
Is This the Correct Shipping Address?
In order to begin customizing your MagicBands, you must first confirm your shipping address. If your shipping address is not located in the United States, you can pick up your customized MagicBands at your Disney Resort hotel Front Desk.

Then had our home address underneath with an option for "Yes" or "Change Address"

If you click into your profile one of the options in there about half way down is contact information - try making sure your address is set in there - I personally would use the website to do it. :goodvibes
 
Funnily enough I was just trying to do this exact same thing yesterday and had the same problem.

After some research it was suggested putting in the address of the Disney resort where you will pick them up, so I did that and it seemed to work.

Only time will tell if the custom bands appear at check in.

People were previously warned against that as it means they automatically ship and can often not arrive at the resort, as opposed to them knowing they need to go to the resort to be collected (if you are from outside the US).

I suppose, for the OP, it would be as good an option as any as if they don't turn up, she hasn't lost anything.
 
I've just tried to do it on the website and had the same problem. It asks you to enter a shipping address and doesn't give you the option of entering the one on file - unless I'm missing something obvious.

It does seem strange, and a bit annoying, that the website and app can be so difficult to use for those outside the US
 
I'm having same problem too! Very frustrating that it's only set up for us market

I checked to make sure that my address was correct and it was, it still keeps asking for a US address:confused3

I did call the Disney Internet Help Desk today and the CM said that entering the resort address would solve the issue (she then gave me the address for the resorts which was helpful), of course there is times where telephone CMs don't always give the right info but I'm going to try it anyway. If they don't turn up at least I will know for the future :thumbsup2

I'm glad it wasn't just me missing something obvious! :rotfl:It isn't a good system for non US travellers :sad2:

I've never had an issue with this, I enter my home address, and it gives me this message:

Job done, I know it'll be at my resort. This is the way it's always been for me.

It should be that simple but at the moment when you try to enter your home address the drop down for county only gives the option of the US, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands.

I've tried many different options but non work
