Is it safe to leave my daughter's custom wheelchair in stroller parking? She can walk some so while we are on rides I would like to park it like we would a stroller. For moving around the parks and during shows it will be better for her to be in the chair. She's small for her age but too big for an umbrella stroller and I think the hard plastic park strollers would be uncomfortable for her. She's gotten used to her chair when we out and that's why I would like to use it at the parks.

I have the same question. On our last trip our umbrella stroller was stolen twice (once was probably an accident, we parked next to a very similar stroller, but the other time they actually took our stuff out of the stroller and left it on the ground when they took it). Very worried about leaving our special needs stroller unattended. I've bought a large name sign that can be attached with zip ties to make it more distinctive but I still worry.

Wow! Is there a lot of theft like that? I'm worried about the electric wheelchair I'll be renting. I won't be leaving it often, but for rides or restaurants.

My daughter has a custom wheelchair and I didn't leave it unattended anywhere. We've had her wheelchair for less then a year and my insurance won't cover to replace it 100% and there's no way I can afford what they won't cover. I just kept it with us. My daughter isn't wheelchair bound and can walk so when she walked to walk she would push her own chair (with assistance). But honestly I think she spent maybe an hour walking total during our four days there. There were a few rides where we took the chair with us into the line and then left it at the rides entrance/exit and she didn't use it during the ride.

You could lock the wheel to the frame with a bicycle lock. You can not lock it to any permanent structure. Like strollers it may be moved while you are on the ride.

Wow I never even thought about someone taking a custom wheelchair from stroller parking, but I was thinking I'd leave mine if we ride things like the people mover where I can't use the wheelchair in the queue, but I can have two people walking with me to help me. Scary that strollers have been taken on purpose and it's possible that wheelchairs could go missing as well, just not something I ever thought about but now that I'm thinking about it, it sounds like its best not leave any wheelchair in the stroller parking at all if you can help it.

I've never had one of my wheelchair rentals go missing. And that's over 20 years. But if you are concerned, I would just keep the chair with you while in lines, even if she wants to walk. Let her push it, or you can. And then leave it with the ride CM when you board the ride. They will make sure it is waiting when you exit.

I think the People Mover is the only ride without some form of wheelchair access. (I'm assuming Swiss Family Treehouse isn't on your touring plan).

do Disney rules allow this?
They don't not allow it as long as it isn't locked to something else, like a lamp post. But you couldn't lock both wheels so that a CM wouldn't be able to move it if necessary.

agree

It can't be locked to anything and it still needs to be able to be moved if needed.
Other than that, you could lock it.

And please ask the CM working the entrance to the closest attraction where the best place to park your WC or ECV if you're not taking it in the line with you. My DD works in MK and they really DO NOT want WC and ECVs parked with strollers. They have created areas for WCs and ECVs that are clearly separate from the strollers. They really don't want them together...they are going to end up having to move one to one area and the other to another area.
