OK please explane to me something. When you do a custom wedding. Does the hotel cost factor into that wedding and if so does the whole wedding party hotel factor into the 10k for the wedding cost. I am over here and looking at number and I am clue less as to make it a 10k wedding unless I am that cheap.

Thanks,
Kim

Custom brides have to guarantee a minimum of number of room nights as part of their contract. The number required is based on the size of your guest list. Basically, you would not pay for any rooms unless you chose to, but if for some reason your guaranteed minimum didn't get met, you would be liable for the cost of the remaining rooms up to your minimum. It's usually not hard to meet room requirements though. For instance, our minimum number of room nights was 75. My husband and I stayed for 7 nights after the wedding (not to mention the nights before), so that was 7 room nights right there. By the time your family members and wedding party members and guests have all booked accommodations you should be fine.

No, the room costs don't count toward your minimum total expenditure of $10K though.

The reception may well be the biggest cost, probably anywhere from $2,500 to $4,000 or much more depending on the number of guests you have. They do add on 20% automatic gratuity and 6.5% sales tax. The location is usually $1,200 or $2,300 if you have the wedding pavillion. Photography can take a big chunk if you use Disney...video as well. The Illuminations dessert party could run about $750 or much more if you pay the viewing fees for your whole party. Don't forget the cake, $500 - 700, the transportation to and fro for you and your guests, and what about having musicians or characters? Mickey and Minnie dressed in their wedding finery for a half hour at your reception is $1,070! Most people usually have to start cutting back pretty quickly to try to keep it at $10,000 :teeth: I would like the MK photo shoot also and that is $800 or so ;)

Oh well, I am saving my dollars :goodvibes

Withdisnetspirit is SOOOO right lo :rotfl2: you really won't have a problem hitting the 10 k with disney! It really depends on the time of week and number of guests. We are looking at Sat evening with 60 guests and having trouble keeping it at $20,000 :confused3 oh well I too am saving my money lol! and no unfortunately then $$$$ you pay for rooms does not go toward the min! Good luck.

Believe me it is very easy to go over the minimum. We are also trying desperately to keep it around 20k with no luck!! Its just getting more and more expensive every day. But in light of it all, beign from NY, I am saving myself tons of cash. I keep telling myself this!!

Thats what i keep telling myself - the average wedding price in the UK is £16000 which is about $30000!! so even if i dont stick to my $10K im still saving!
