Im planning on having a custom wedding in December 2007 at the yacht club gazebo.

Using the wish book on the Disney wedding site i got a price of about $13500 :rolleyes1 which is more than i had hoped to get away with, especially as i need to add tax and a service charge onto that!

Can anyone give me an idea of what there original price was and any was you managed to cut it down? its sooo easy to get carried away with all the little extra's! Im having about 30 guests and a evening reception at the yacht club.

Any help would be great! :earboy2:

Can you Change it from the evening to before 2 pm that will save you some money? I am getting married at the same MOnth and year and I am having that struggle if it is worth it morning verse evening wedding.

Also if you got the large picture package maybe downgreat to a little smaller one. Also maybe get fake flowers for your ladies and only real ones for you or outside vend thoses items.

I hope this helps :)

Monday thru Thursday is a less expensive time, as well as having your reception in the daytime. You can still have a beautiful ceremony and reception in the day. My custom VR in December is at 1:00 p.m. followed by reception and we are really pleased with everything.

Some other ways besides time and day to save money is to use silk flowers (bring them with you from home), have a buffet reception (the menus are great), most of the venues are beautiful so don't go so crazy on the decor at the reception. I'm trying to think of ways we are saving money..... Oh, I got my expensive dress on great sale because it was discontinued, I'm providing my own favors, I'm having daytime ceremony & reception, you can use slip covered chairs instead of specialty chairs, use hand-tied bouquets because they are less expensive, speak to your coordinator. She/he will help you in keeping your budget. Mine has been great in fitting my recommendations.
Hope this helps.

Yeah i did consider a Morning wedding, but i really would rather have an evening reception as many of my guest coming from Australia and England and some can only come for a few days so i thought it might be a bit much getting up early in the morning, plus i dont really tend to eat much through out the day so im not sure i would want a big meal at lunch. But it is worth considering.

Make complete since. I am pushing for an evening that way if my guest want they can go to the park in the moring or something and afternoon is the wedding like at 3 pm then pics and dinner somewhere after that is all said and done we should be able to walk on the beach angain and watch teh fireworks. THat is my hope but we will see :)

I found that the Wish Book prices were way more than what my actual wedding is costing. The floral prices are more "adjustable" than what is listed, based on what you want. The Wish Book is a great guide, but it does not give you all of the options.

How am I saving money....
1) Morning wedding on a weekday with a brunch reception.
2) I am having an illuminations dessert party so that we can have a night time "mini" reception, for the guests at the wedding, and people I could not invite.
3)Picking a wedding site that doesn't require "additional" decoration. Think about the time of year that you want your ceremony and what the local will look like during that time.
4) Keep te guest list to the minimum....I hate to say it, but that is where a large marjority of your cost will come from.
These are some of my guidelines...ohh also, I am doing outside video and photography as it is cheaper, and that leaves me some more wiggle room in my Disney Budget.

Wow!! I'm really excited. I just called today to see what my options are . . I mean granted, I'm not gonna get married until 09/09 - but I wanted to see what my options would be if I had a WDW wedding. . . . I can bring in a Outside Photographer / Video? That means I can negotiate to keep my negatives!! =) and . . . we can do multiple venues.

How much of outside vendors can you bring? Can you bring own flowers / centerpieces and design your cake??

You can use outside photo, video and floral (but not if you are an in park reception then you muSt use disney floral) You can not use outside vendors for any food, beverage, cake or anything like that.
