Got a question ?

What one would you pick.

I have about 18-20 people at my wedding including Bride and groom

I like the intimate becasue the cost but finding it hard as heck to plan or pirce anything becauce everyone at disney is so vage!

At lease with a custom you can relaly use the wish book and get some ruff numbers. Also I am afread that I would not even meet the min on the custom.

Second someone told me I could put my name in a lottery for my date and location more than a year out. Is that true what is the time frame.

Thanks ladies,
Kim

I dont really know much about the intimate as i am having about 34 guest at my wedding so i have to have the custom. However when i spoke the a wedding co ordinater she told me i can "reserve" the date more than a year out and the aslong as i phone on the exact 1yr mark i would get that date, she said the usually give you a day or two grace on that though.

Kim,

What are you trying to price on the Intimate?

It already includes:

Officiant fees
Violinist
Bouquet (for you) and Boutonierre (for Groom)
Cake/Champagne "reception" (you will need to purchase extra champagne as the bottle only serves 4-6 people)
Photography (you get 12 prints in a "folio"; they pick the prints)
Limo service (4 hours)

if you purchase the Intimate as a package you get your room accommodations and park tickets as well (although I think I heard the park tickets might be changing).

if you purchase the Intimate as an add-on then you have to arrange for your own room/accommodations for at least 4 nights at a Disney resort and you have to purchase your own park tickets.

You may be finding folks at Disney "vague" because I think they are getting ready to change the packages again for 2006. They may not want to tell you one thing only to have it change in a month or so.

Kim,

I’ve got to be honest and tell you that Disney is somewhat vague with both the Intimate and Custom weddings this far out from the actual wedding date. They don’t really get into very many specifics until 8 months or less out for custom weddings.

Just try to weigh the options in your mind. With a custom wedding you get more flexibility, but you also have increased costs. With an intimate wedding you get fewer options, but you get a pretty fixed cost that you can count on. Do remember that the custom wedding minimums are before tax and gratuity, which are not small sums.

Hope that helps a little! :)

My partner and I have been looking forward to an intimate wedding at WDW Wedding Pavilion now on February 14th 2006(10 years since we got engaged). We were told by Disney that they would not be able to reserve anything until 12moths before, however it is now 156 days to our planned wedding date and have no price from Disney,no package details of the 2006 package and no guarantee of the Wedding Pavilion and will not know until 90 days before. The Wedding Pavilion is reserved for Custom Weddings($10,000 min.price tag)and then any remaining dates and times are released 90 days before to intimate wedding couples and as you can imagine February 14th(Valentines day)Disney are going to be raking it in and will not book any intimate weddings, even ours in for Feb 14th when they can squeeze more money out of the day on Custom weddings. What really P*$$£$ me off is the way we have been lied to,left hanging around so much so we cannot arrange photography, videography, officiant or even a budget.
For those of you wondering about next years package, the included tickets on your 4 days min stay have gone, you must now pay for the officiant out of your own pocket and the bottles of Cuvet/Champagne have shrunk along with the Wedding cake so much that they will only serve four to six people,so you have to buy MORE cake & MORE Cuvet/Champagne.

Seriously consider getting married elsewhere,it's both cheaper and a LOT less hassle and less stressful.

No, it is not a lottery..but at one year out you can book the date/time/place etc. You can not book longer than one year out.

For those who are talking about the "lottery". My consultant had me on such a list more than 2 months before. She placed our names on the date and time we first requested. There was also another couple on that date as well. I never called on the one year mark, she called me. She handled everything for us and called us a week after the year mark and told us that we had gotten our date and that the other people were changed to another date. Maybe it's just for custom weddings or maybe I am just really blessed with a great consultant. Hope this helps.

Well, I just booked my Intimate Wedding for March. I was told a ballpark estimate ($5000; but that's for an extra night of accomodations and staying at a Deluxe instead of a Moderate resort; and March is in Peak season). For that estimate, it includes most everything that the 2005 one does.

I know 100% for sure that will not include the officiant for 2006.

And, I was told that since they haven't yet finalised the 2006 package rates which might not include ticket prices, the overall price of the package will be adjusted (to go down approx. $450) in order to reflect that change and allow you to purchase your own Magic Your Way tickets.

Plus, the 2006 package MIGHT not include room accomodations either. If you book it before they make that change, your room rate is locked in with the package. If they choose to not provide accomodations in the package anymore, the price of the intimate package will decrease in order for you to have funds available to book your own (on property) room and tickets.

Meaning, basically: if you book before they finalise the 2006 rates, you will have:
Intimate Wedding Package + Ticket Purchase + Officiant= the equivalent of 2005 Intimate Package with a bit higher overall cost due to inflation.

If you wait until after 2006 Packages are finalised it will be (most likely): Magic Your Way Vacation Package + Intimate Wedding Package + Officiant= the equivalent of the 2005 Intimate Package with a bit higher overall cost due to inflation.

I know this is a little confusing, but I assure you that once rates are all finalised for 2006, Disney won't have to be so vague with people who are trying to book their weddings.

Also, if you want to have a "bigger" Intimate wedding (20 people total = 18 guests and bride & groom), the cost of the package will not go up. However, you do have to buy more champagne or drinks for your guests as 1 bottle of champagne will only provide for 6 people, so you have to make calculations for that.

And, as usual, if you want extras (like more musicians or different transportation), that will add to the price of your package.

And, I should note that 1 of the cakes that comes with the package (2 tiers) is enough for 20 people, according to what I've been told.

Sorry so long...hope it helps a little

Thanks webray but we did book 12 months out as Disney do not accept bookings more than 12 month before. The location we wanted has never been promised to us as we have been told allsorts by Disney, such as it is a public holiday and that is why we do not take bookings more than 90 days before,we are getting married in 2006 so we need the 2006 package which has not been finalised(told these things from Feb 14th,getting married 14th Feb 2006)so the price and package could and will change.Disney should say you can only book your intimate wedding 90 days from your date really because everything seems to hang on the 90 day mark after the Custom wedding customers have had their pickings of the best dates and times!!!!!!!!
Trust me on this one as I know what I am talking about as the situation I am in.

Who is your wedding co-ordinator as ours has told us a ballpark figure of $5000 but for February 14th saying that is Peak season and our package is so far including a moderate resort room. Our wedding has been booked since 14th February 2005

I've been talking with a guy named Matthew, but I forgot his last name. I'm really bad with remembering and writing them down. He's been really helpful with explaining things to me. However, we changed our package around this morning because we figured it's only about $300 more to do the Magic Your Way plus Dining (at the Boardwalk) with an Intimate add on.

I don't know why your estimate would have been about the same as mine if you're staying at a Moderate. Maybe I was underquoted or you were overquoted?
