Custom Clothing at DL

Boys are so much harder to come up with, especially when they get older. I think I'll be taking these 2 sets with us. I am so undecided though, Monsters is WAY small and I'll have to cut off the pants and make them short-ish. Cars is just getting to the point where it is small. I wasn'g going to bring them until I read the morning and evenings could be cool.

I haven't made him anything new in a while, but he just put a hole in a pair of jeans so might cut those off and make something else for him. He'll definately be customized somewhat though.

I just started 2 new shirts for me this morning (thanks for your help Lori with the font issues).

I love, love, love the Monsters outfit, is that something you could do for an adult????:goodvibes

Jessica52877, how do you do the letters? Do you use a stencil and cut them out? I'm in unfamiliar territory here but I'd like to make matching shirts for my family.

I posted a trip reprot but I wanted to share some of the outfits we wore last week at disney!

Lori - We were at the table to the west of you at Ariel's that day for lunch! I saw your beautiful outfits and tried to explain it to my mom (she is my sewing queen). LOVED them, your girls were darling.

Here are the ones my Mom made for our trip last week. My daughter would not put the matching hair bands on. Can you see the sass eluding from the picture?

How the heck do I make this smaller? I reduced it before uploading - sorry...

Jessica, Awesome shirts. my sewing machine doesnt like me :confused3 . i was thinking about trying to cut fabric on my cricut, i hear they can do that. haha but im not to sure about it.

Flour paste? Swirlly mickeys, man! now i think i have to do it too.

I saw a super cute shirt for a girl. A black Minne head attached to a white shirt. A small red bow pined on the head just like Minnie's. Some of the pom-pom fringe around the bottom. Matching red bow in the little girl's hair.

Looked very easy to do, for someone who can run a sewing machine.

I love doing adult customs. Of course there isn't a market much for them but disney is such a fun place where everyone can be a kid and enjoy! I got me totally cute hair bows to match my outfits.

Thanks for the compliment. I have also heard that the cricut will cut fabric but it goes through lots of mats then! You could cut and then use iron on. Would make for some adorable shirts! I bet the autograph would be a whole heck of a lot easier if cut on the cricut and just ironed on!

I should try it out. i wonder if i could get it to work when doing a whole character. hmmmmm food for thought. i need to get some other things caught up before i can experiment. :goodvibes

jessica52877 are those pictures your guy as he is now? Awwwww. Hard to think of him without the bouncy curls. :)

I got a dress from disneyshopping that's in the surfing mickey postcard material on one of the things posted on this page. :goodvibes

TravelinGal, do you make the camp shirts from scratch, or just add the fun fabric?

Jessica, I've never seen your Monster's Inc. outfit before. I really like it!

Thanks! It is about a year and half old and he only ever wore it a couple of time! It is still in his closet because I just loved it and hate to sell it. It won't even come close to fitting though.

Yep, his curls are gone, long gone. I just love that picture of him though. He is 5 now and I think 2 in the picture.

I bought the dress and cut it up! DH and DS have the matching shirts.

TravelinGal is an excellent sewer! She has made all kinds of things all from scratch!

Can I pay someone to help me? :lmao: I want to do custom shirts for my family but I'm clueless. Are there iron on appliques that are bigger than 1-2 inches? I can sew, but not if it has to fit someone :rotfl: I've done puppets for a class last year. That's about it.

I was floored by the dresses and almost asked if you made them but thought they were store bought, they were soo well done. If I would have known it was you I would have :-) My daughter made us leave the table twice to go potty, we almost missed Mulan and flagged her down from the patio.

We should have car-pooled, we drove from Mesa. We are trying to come back for a trip in October if I can swing it.

Joann Fabrics sells something called a fabric-que. It is much bigger then a normal one and they have several disney designs, Mick, Min, Cars, Princesses.

For my first trip to WDW when I was 3.5yo, my mom had a custom made outfit with the castle on it. I wish I had a picture of it here!

For my last trip, the 7 toddlers and their moms wore matching custom shirts: the girls and their moms wore red shirts with blingy Minnie Mouse cutouts, and the boys and their moms wore white shirts with the pirate Mickey Mouse design (sadly, we didn't buy from you Eeyore).

Do you do custom Hawaiian shirts? I'd love a Nemo one for DS's birthday in a month. :)
