Curvy girls, where do you buy jeans?

I'm a 10 or 12 and I get my curvy jeans from the Gap and Eddie Bauer. I love them!

OP, while I am larger than you, I have to say I love the Lane bryant/Fashion bug "Right Fit" Jeans. the Fashion bug version i feel is the same but for less! Regular is about $24 and when i was there last week they had buy one regular get a 2nd for $10. Good deal to me.:thumbsup2 my BF loves how I look in them too! they fit nice with no butt gap. :goodvibes

I'm 5'10 and plus size 18. I love Right Fit from Fashion Bug, although I agree, the "new" sizing is confusing. I am a "yellow" although they have 2 other curvier sizes. They also come in tall and short. They do bag out a little but I also buy them snug. JCPenney also has quite a wide variety of sizes and cuts.

My problem is gaping in the back. My waist is smaller than my hips, so I don't want a jean that gaps in the back.
I'll be honest, I haven't seen 18 in a long time in my closet, but I would assume that since Lane Bryant goes down to a 14 it might be worth looking at.

I have a similar problem, so I swear by Lane Bryant's right fit blues. The blue style is designed specifically to prevent gaping for those of us that have an identifiable waist and a booty to go with it. Also, they used to be sized differently (0 through 7, which I thought was incredibly confusing, and I wasn't fooling anyone when I told them I wore a size 6 :ssst:), but they just re-released with their standard 14 to 26 sizing and a new rebel wash that is much trendier than their prior denim colors. Check them out!

Thanks OP. I really needed a new pair of jeans. Same size as you. But, to top it off...I am also petite/short so it is harder. Thanks to posters, I went to the Lane Bryant web site and they had the Original Right Fit stretch bootcut jean for $19.99. They also have a code to use (006950620). If you spend $50 you get a certain % off. You can also get free shipping if you have it shipped to a store. Here's hoping they fit me. They were the "old" size..the 1,2,3.

Good luck on your quest, it's not easy.

Another vote for Gap. I usually buy mine at an outlet store. I think they carry your size. I find them very comfortable, flattering and not overly expensive. Also< i can usually buy a size smaller than I normally am because I think they stretch

Lane Bryant, they have a group of jeans that are coded red blue and yellow for different body types. They fit me really well. As long as you are a 14 or above they are a great jean and not overly expensive. Under size 14 I don't know...havent been a size f 14 in a while.:rotfl:

I love love love Gap jeans. I buy mine at a Gap outlet also but they're still a little on the expensive side.

Right now I barely fit in my Gap jeans (seriously all of my friends and family have September birthdays darn it! :lmao:) but couldn't justify spending the $$ on new ones that (hopefully :goodvibes) will only work for a few weeks. Right now I am LOVING the Lee "Slender Secret" jeans I just got from Kohl's.

Also, I guess I should point out that I'm 22 and would rather go naked than wear "mom jeans," and these Lee's aren't like that at all (IMO, anyway).

The problem I have with most curvy jeans is they go up super high and make me look like I'm wearing frumpy mom jeans. And I'm 21. So no.

But there are non-frumpy jeans out there too!

I literally drive 2 hours once a year to the store in Gettysburg, as it is the closest I can find, just to buy jeans. They are that good and fit that well.

I wear a 14 with a big butt and thighs, narrow waist. There are three or four different cuts I can wear there, a variety of sizes. And to reiterate: THEY HAVE ENOUGH ROOM FOR YOUR THIGHS AND DON'T ASSUME THEY ARE THE SAME SIZE AS YOUR CALVES (zomg I hate that)

The house brand is what you want, and they tend to be $30-35 or so. I like the Taylor and Kaylee cuts best, but those sit about an inch below my navel. They have higher cuts.

Every year when I'm in there I see people going "Oh my gosh these actually FIT me!" It's crazy how many people look awesome in them.

Fashion Bug carries the Right Fits Jeans in regular and plus sizes and they are much cheaper than Lane Bryant.

I have to say that my jeans always come from Fashion Bug because in addition to being curvy, I am also short and they always seem to have the petite/short jeans in stock.

Lane Bryant right fit. I can't say enough great things about them. If you have a store near you, go in and have them measure you (they do it discretely and tastefully). That's all I get for jeans and slacks for work now. They are pricy if you don't wait for a sale. They run sales pretty often though.

Lane Bryant is having a sale now. I just ordered some of their jeans. I am tall so hopefully they fit.

I bought two different styles of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans at Marshalls. One pair is so soft and comfortable, they feel like pajama bottoms.

I picked up a Gloria Vanderbilt pair at Costco and was amazed at how comfy they were!

Yeah, the Lee's I get at Kohl's are definitely not the mom-like jeans they have been known for in the past.

I tend to like Fashion Bug in general because of their plus size department. I hate that a lot of stores carry plus sizes, but the clothes are just.....meh. FB tends to be a little more on the trendy side.

Lane Bryant is quite expensive, but they have outlet stores in some places, and pretty good deals can be had depending on what their stock is like.

I'm not sure if Ross's is a local chain or not, but they have a lot of really good deals, including jeans, for plus sizes. Every few weeks I'll pop into the local one to see if there's anything new.

I was having the best time in Palm Springs on vacation haunting thrift shops and tried on hundreds of pairs of jeans. I'd just lost 40 #'s so needed new clothes. I found some jeans I loved (after much frustration).... and found out when I got home they were:

HOMEGROWN LEVI’S® EVA RANGE HITS US STORES
A South African designed range of jeans for women with more curvaceous bottoms has been snapped up in the States by bootylicious fashionistas.

The South African ‘invented’ Levi’s® EVA jeans were a result of SA women speaking out about wanting to show off their ‘booty’ and challenging the industry to give them the right fit. “We identified this gap in the South African denim market and are delighted that women around the world seem to feel the same way as our South African style setters,” says Debbie Gebhardt, Marketing Director of Levi Strauss South Africa.

“A large part of our female market was telling us that jeans often fit around the seat, but gape around the waist, making them uncomfortable and unattractive. Shape rather than sizing was the problem. New waist-to-hip ratios had to be created,” says Gebhardt. Levi’s® EVA jeans are designed to have more fabric and stretch in the seat with a curved waistband which is higher at the back and lower in the front, allowing for a snug and flattering fit around the waist.

The range has been so successful in South Africa that it has now been extended to include a number of styles including culottes, skirts and other seasonal fits. The range also includes a non-denim option and will be releasing a corduroy finish in Winter 2008.

“Developed for the local market, we realise that Levi’s® EVA has global appeal. Stars like Beyoncé, Shakira and J-Lo have destigmatised curvy bodies and popularised ‘bootyliciousness’. There are limited options for women with this body shape and the success of Levi’s® EVA locally and internationally proves this,” explains Gebhardt. Loretta Choy, Levi Strauss’s US merchandiser, says the range was launched in key outlets as a test earlier this year in the United States. She says Levi’s® EVA jeans’ rate of sales fast reached a par with the brand’s most successful styles.
