Curvy girls, where do you buy jeans?

It means they aren't my style.

I prefer more classic-looking clothes.
Not skintight, faded, ripped, etc.

This is true for me, also and would have been sufficient to say... the rest of your editorial comments are unnecessary.

Ohh, I really like some of those! It's hard to find trendy 'designed' jeans. I tend to love having a little something on the back pocket or something along those lines. And they're having a buy one, get one 50 percent off deal too. Now if only I can justify spending $80 on two pairs of jeans lol

They are expensive but very popular around this area... north Jersey, New York, etc.

DD has gotten some great buys on EBAY, actually. :thumbsup2

I'm not plus...but I'm curvy. My waist is smaller than my hips/bottom. I swear by Calvin Klein. I also buy them at Macy's. I like CK skinny... but I do know they sell CK in plus, too.

I'm going to check out Macy's either today or sometime this weekend.

Thanks everyone for the great recommendations! And I'm glad to see that this thread has helped other curvy girls find some great jeans, too. :thumbsup2

I have 2 pair of my favorite go to jeans that I picked up recently and for the first time in ages I am happy with my jeans.

I purchased a pair of Levi's 580 at Macy's.

My 2nd pair is Bill Blass strech boot.....ready ok I can't stop giggling about these CIRCLE FIT!!! Thats right I am a circle! I found these in TJ Maxx.

The BIll Blass also had triangle cut too which I do find amusing at my own expense!

I wear a size 18 as well and am in my 40's. No granny elastic jeans for me.

Hope this helps!

I'm not sure if Ross's is a local chain or not, but they have a lot of really good deals, including jeans, for plus sizes. Every few weeks I'll pop into the local one to see if there's anything new.

Ross is national but not every where. And it's actually where I bought my Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, not at Marshalls. (Where's the smacks head smilie?)

Okay, I'm going to have to eat a little crow. :upsidedow

I ended up buying the Lee Comfort Fit stretch bootcut jeans in a dark wash. :)

Well apparently, even though I'm Polish, I have the body of a South African?

My waist is quite a bit smaller than my hips and I always get that gap in the back. Or, it fits my hips but cuts off circulation in my thighs.

I love, love, love Lucky Easy Rider jeans. I only get them off Ebay and I need a short inseam (5"3). With shipping, I pay less than $20.

I just bought a pair of Levis Curvy jeans from Dillard's and they fit great too although I went a size up from my usual size because they have a lot of stretch but I didn't want them tight.

I haven't gotten jeans at Gap, JCrew, Old Navy or Levis in forever. But Ann Taylor's Curvy Fit and Eddie Bauer's Blakely Fit fit me for slacks but not jeans.

I don't know why jeans are so hard to find.....

I went to Old Navy and bought the Dreamer jeans,..they are on sale for $16...LOVE THEM

I'll have to check them out. I was just at BJ's food shopping and they happened to have Levis 512 Women's perfectly slimming boot cut jean for $20. They even had short so I was excited. Here's hoping they fit! Jeans are almost impossible for me to find. :worship:

Macy's is a great place for us curvy girls. They always have some great sales and coupons online.

Ashley Stewart has great jeans that range from $19.99 to about $69.99.

:rotfl:I have no desire to look like a rappers girlfriend/wife. ;)

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I love the first pair on page two.

You can roll your eyes all you want.

A couple smilies on a message board won't change my opinion one bit.

I hate the cut of women's jeans. My hips are bigger than my waist, then I have tiny calves. I'm a true pear shape, people! I've given up on women's jeans and now buy my jeans in the men's department of Target! I got a super cute pair of Levi's there that fit perfectly (and aren't too long as women's jeans always are). They were only 19 bucks!

I also wear men's levi's, although it is hard to find them in size 29 and a long enough length. I'm totally pear shaped too and have never found a pair of women's jeans that fit me as good, I absolutely HATE the stretchy jeans because they are so unflattering for women with hips :rotfl:

So...I had posted that I found Levi's at BJ's. Got them home and tried them on and hated them~!! Hello people, I am a big girl and don't want the stretch to cling to my hips/thighs. Anyway, I took a PP's advice and went to Old Navy. I never thought they sold my size. However, THEY DO!!! I got a $16 pair of jeans and absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I could not get the Dreamers because they did not come in Short. So, I got the sweetheard. I have the opening in the back of the waist which I hate but I just wear a belt and all is well. Anyway, they go up to a size 18. Thanks so much for this thread and the suggestions.

I swear by Old Navy jeans as well. (I'm a size 18/20 and luckily ours still sells plus sizes in store). I wear the Sweetheart style and they are the most flattering jeans.
I have bought some great jeans from the Levi's website(they have a plus section and they are great as well, but pricey for my taste --$40+, so I wait for good sales).

*** I have to say that I have never had luck with any clothing from Lane Bryant. Nothing there -- jeans or otherwise -- has ever been the right fit for me. I've tried the size I usually wear, sizes up, and sizes down and everything is aways poochy and makes me look way bigger than I am. So I REALLY don't like Lane Bryant. Plus everything there is so expensive. I can get cuter clothes that actually fit and flatter me for much cheaper at many other places...Just my two cents about it. ***

here here for old navy jeans

they come in multiple cuts and are cheap! If you have an old navy outlet near go there. They have better sales and the clerks there told me the carry the same items. I got 2 pairs of their jeans for 15 a pair!!!! and Tees for 5 bucks. Again sizes go up to 20 in most stores, call ahead if you want to check before you go.

Lane Bryant is so so and expensive...never could get a pair to fit right.

AVENUE!

or CATO plus!

They both have websites you can check. Avenue is slightly more expensive, but have a much larger selection. Very comfy and MADE for plus-sizes!

I am surprised no one has mentioned Silver Jeans yet. My entire family wears them and we range in sizes from 7 to 18...they have a gazillion different cuts and styles so it is almost impossible to not find a style that works perfectly. I am a curvy size 7...my legs and butt are thick...They make my legs look tiny. ANd my mom is a 14 and she looks gorgeous in them! My sisters both wear them as well and both are plus sized, gorgeous women. They are spendy but you can find great deals on them. Macy's carries them as does Mauries. They are great quality too...:goodvibes

These jeans interest me... can you tell me if the denim is thick or stretchy and thin ? I have a very small waist and big hips and i need the heavier denim that tucks my hips in :rotfl:

I wear a size 18 and only buy jeans form Maurice's these days. I prefer the Orchid boot cut and really like them. They are not thin or too stretchy. I think that they are heavier denim with a light stretch. As a curvy girl with larger thighs and a smaller (well...pre the last pregnancy) waist, I don't feel like they are too big. They come to a good height, but are by no means "mom" jeans. Plus my crack doesn't show too often. Oh, I'm 5'5" and the regular length is just right :thumbsup2

You can buy them online and in their stores.

Unlike other brands, they actually fit! The downside, is that they don't come in a variety of colors/shades of blue.
