Curves question

Hi. I know every Curves is probably different but I was just trying to see what the costs are for it. Is there a membership fee and a monthly fee as well? Then when you sign up for a year, are you paying for the year in advance or just monthly too? I am thinking of joining and a little afraid to go in there right now! I am also wondering how much money I should plan on spending on my 1st visit. Any advice would be great, Thanks.

I joined Curves just before Thanksgiving. The membership fee was $74.50 and the monthly fee is $29 (if you have it deducted from a credit or debit card). I believe the monthly fee is $39 if you want to pay month to month. I have a one year commitment.

I go to Curves 3x a week and love it. I have never done anything like this before in my life. The atmosphere is very comfortable and not intimidating at all.

I was a member last year, but didn't renew. There was a small savings if you paid for a year in advance. They had a 6 month plan and then the monthly plan (that being the most expensive). I'm thinking it was less than $400 for the whole year. There were a few add on costs, if you wanted to take a certain aeorbics class, it was extra. Your membership will probably just cover use of the machines.
If you're not sure how much you will use it, you may want to start with a monthly membership, or ask for a free trial. If there is a sign up fee, ask when they will have a promotion waiving it. Or just ask them to waive it for you. Also, compare the price with that of workout equipment you could buy and use at home.

When I joined the sign up fee was at 1/2 price I paid $74 along with the 1st month of $29. I signed up for a year. Month to month is $39. If you decide to cancel before your year is up they convert your membership to what would be the $39 fee and you pay $10 a month extra for the months you went. For example:You sign up you a year and decide after 4 months that you need to quit...You would pay $40($10@4 months)to cancel.

YES... I think every curves is different.............
..I didn;t pay anything to sign up!
Although, I am paying 39.99 and not 29.99.
Actually when I signd they had a special going where you bring in a bag of food for the hungry and the sign up was free.....
They can take it out of your credit card/bank or you can pay with a check before the date they are going to charge your card/bank.
Also, I found out that you can join for 3 mnths as well but, you have to pay it in advance..........
I was also told that you can pay as you go without a contract and pay 49.99 amonth (way too much)
KMY, to be totally honest, I think they would work with you on the registration fee..........alot of times they have specials when two people join at once (in case you know anyone else interested) or specials like the one they had when I joined. Ask them about it believe me they are eager for your business..........
If money is an issue I would go straight to the owner and find out, they have complete authority in waving fees etc.
I happen to know my curves owner and my neighbor also works for them, they have done these things before.

MY 2 cents.........I think the reggie should be free, after all you are locking in to a year and ultimatly many people would be eager to join if they didnt have to pay a reggie fee.

I have to say though, I absolutley love it! my membership is up next month and I am signing for another year!

Mine was $69 to join, 39 monthly direct debited out of checking, and it renewed without a joining fee this year.

I'm in No. Jersey near NYC, so the prices might be higher here.
