I was shopping for herbs to plant in my new home's herb garden, and came accross a curry plant. It smelled great -- right out of an Indian restaurant's kitchen.

Anyone have any curry plant suggestions? I planted it right in the herb garden -- thought the deer & other critters might be scared away from it's potent aroma.

Thanks :-)

Hi MidwestPiglet! :)

I love curry, both the smell and the taste! :)

I've added two links here for you. The first one describes the difference between the curry plant and the curry leaf plant. The second one provides side by side photos of each plant for comparison (at the bottom of the webpage).

I'm assuming the one that you have is a curry plant. I just thought this was interesting, I hope you do too! :)

Thanks so much for your research! Yes, I believe I do have the non-edible curry plant. (Or, edible but bitter variety.)

Nevertheless, it sure smells great, and is very pretty in the garden.

Excellent resource sites for herbs -- thanks again!
