Currently at VWL

Hi,

Thanks for the posting. We are staying at VWL in mere months and I'm so excited. I'm going with someone who is a little anti-VWL (blashphemy....I know) so I have a question for you. How is the light level in your studio? You mentioned how you felt in the AKV suites. It is similar to the light in the VWL studio?

Thanks so much. I can't wait. I'm hoping that she'll love it. Regardless, I love it. Yeah!

Enjoy the rest of your vacation,

Lisa

My husband and I both agree that the room is fine. Its not bright but not dark. We find it relaxing and have no problem reading, hanging out, etc... BTW, the lights in the front hall are florescent so they take a little time to warm up. At first I thought they were worthless but once that had some time, they were fine.

We just finished a really nice dinner at WCC. We both had the skillet and LOVED the corn bread and most everything else. Definitely on our return list.

I love WCC & especially that corn bread!

Glad to hear you are having such a fabulous time!

We're staying in another week or so... anyhow, does anyone know when the main pool is supposed to be open?

The pool work seems to be going slow (to my very untrained eye). I really don't think it will be done before April.

As for the bus, nope we took the boat. However when we went to go to Epcot on Monday there was very clearly a Magic Kingdom bus there so I'm not sure about the debate going on in the other thread.

Oh, just a FYI: there is no official path from TTC to CR. We thought there was and found out the hard way there isn't. It makes for a great story but it was an interesting walk. :headache: We wanted to walk off some of our Ohana dinner so we thought we would walk back to CR. We should have just walked to the "long way" to GF, MK, then CR.

One more note: the Richard Petty ride-along experience is pretty cool. We both did it (we got discounted tickets around xmas time from their site). It was a lot of fun although my husband enjoyed it more then I did. (I got a little car sick going around the corners)

you can't get to Cont from the GF walking.

Yea I know that path well - pretty scarey under that bridge when you realized that there is no path.....

I did it to get to the kennel really early.

thanks for the information on the MK bus - I though it was back.

Thanks for posting such great play by play. I almost feel like I am there at the lodge. I was wondering if they have upgraded the mattress in the open up couches at the Villas yet. It seems that BCV got new ones already and they aren't even open as long as the VWL. When I was there in December - the mattress in the open up was definitely the original. However, when we stayed at SSR the year before the open up was a memory foam and it was heavenly. Wish they'd get those. Have a GREAT time. It is absolutely freezing in NY this week.

We had a room a few years back on that walkway. We loved it -- every night the kids and I would say goodnight to topiary Mickey's tail! I could take photos of him and our balconies were in the background... It was fun. Close to the lobby was great for the grandparents!

We check in Sunday at OKW. I assume the parks will be crazy by later in the week, what else is new? Such is the lot of those of us who have to travel on school breaks. Looking forward to retirement when I can go in off-seasons... For now I am happy to be going at all!

Thanks for the report :)

By then, there will be no off seasons. ;) But you won't care. :)

Sorry, they are still the old type of sofa.

We just got back from dinner at Jiko then we watched the P&P party fireworks on the dock. I watched them earlier in the week from the beach and I think the beach is the better location. As for Jiko, we like our meal but we probably would go back to Boma before Jiko. We just don't eat that much and by going to Boma we could try a little of a lot of things instead of just the main course we had at Jiko. Oh well, that is why disney has so many different restaurants, something for everyone.
