Current work at the Fort

No, they are not putting anyone in 1300 due to the noise from the Meadow construction.

1400 and 2000 are also closed at this time.
Hopefully open by end of January, I was on the phone with them yesterday to add my daughter to our reservation and asked if we could request 13XX and she never mentioned it being closed, but she probably doesn't have that intel

according to the nice lady who cleans 1200/1300, the pool construction is supposed to be completed in January.

OMG I just thought of something - what if PH and Crockett's Tavern, etc., are going away because they'll be replaced by something inside the new building?? That could explain why the new building is so close to the Settlement buildings. I hope that's not the case, but I'm afraid now that it is.

This never occurred to me, but now that you mention it I think it's reasonable - PH and the Tavern have been around a long time, and it would not be the first time Disney decided to demo and rebuild something. That picture earlier in this thread (PH and the Tavern with a La Quinta looming over them) looks so absurd it hurts my eyes. It makes more sense to me that DVD is aware of how that looks and the negative appeal to new points buyers; and they're gonna do something about that... maybe after dining options are opened at LL for guests of the Fort and CFW. Somebody said earlier this might even be further proof that the real plan is a combined LL/CFW resort.

The Fort will always be special to me, even though my first stay was only 20 years ago, but I accept that nostalgia has a limited place in Disney's never ending quest to make more money. If they want the next generation's disposable income, they have to reel them in with shiny objects.

I have to agree with you. Rebuilding them would also allow them to increase capacity at both, but I’d hate to lose the intimacy of Hoop Dee Doo’s current performances. Our first visit was 31 years ago (🤯), and the Fort will always be special to me, too.
