Stopped by the DVC desk in GF last night for a little chat and to see what the giveaways were. I was offered the usual Minnie & Mickey strolling the Riviera print, as well as some promo stickers with Chip and Dale for the Cabins and Moana/Pua/Maui for Polynesian/Moana 2.

The guide asked where we were staying this trip and I mentioned that I was visiting with a friend so we were at Port Orleans. The guide said "What, you haven't talked her into becoming a member yet??😅"

Anyway, she said there is currently an incentive for a $50 gift card for taking the 30 minute tour/info session for a non-member.

I'm not sure if this is part of the tiered offer that was in place previously where folks staying at value/mod/deluxe resorts get different $ amounts, or if this is a flat offer now no matter where you're staying. Just thought I'd mention!

I just stayed at a tent site from Nov 17-20. I knew I wanted to buy into the Polynesian direct so I booked a tour for Nov 18. Only my name was on the tour reservation but my sister came with me. I expected to get nothing, but today I noticed an email with a $200 gift card for doing the tour. I booked the tour online after getting a friend to give me a referral. I don’t know what triggered me to get the gift card. Based on what others have said, I would not expect $200 when staying in a tent site.

Why not? If the tent site is at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground, you’re a guest at a Disney resort just like anyone staying at any other Disney resort.

I think it is because the incentive had changed to be tiered…only deluxe level villas were gettin the $100/person to a max of $200….values and modeferstes were being given less

So, since the campsites are not deluxe, maybe they were expecting the smaller amount?

Yes, probably so. Maybe the guide thought they were in the (deluxe) cabins as opposed to a tent site!

Be careful with the tours unless you really are interested. About 12 or so years ago my son and his then wife were sort of interested so we stopped at one of the little booths in Epcot. Before you know it, we were on a bus to BWV (seriously a bus to BW?) which we were actually staying at that trip. We got nothing except a tote bag with some brochures, they didn't get any kind of tour, stuck in a conference room with a video playing then a rep came in to talk to them. They ended up buying (which I tried to talk them out of). They are now divorced, she got the DVC. Anyway, I was just along for the ride not interested in buying at all and told the rep. that. Now, every time I book a room (I go at least 3 times a year) I get the calls and emails from DVC. I would block them but I'm afraid it might actually be Disney calling me about my up coming stay.

We are going at the end of January (renting points for AKL Kidani) and are interested in getting some info on DVC but I’m confused as to the best way to arrange a tour. I’ve seen some say they just go to a kiosk and ask, others say they are emailed an offer for a tour. Just curious I guess why some get emails and others have to seek them out themselves🤷🏻‍♀. Thanks.

Just completed a dvc informational meeting this week. I got $100 in gift cards ($50 for each adult), but we never toured a villa - is it typical to exclude the tour part from a scheduled tour?

When I did my tour, the guide questioned it weird, like if we weren’t interested, we could end there, but we were interested so then he asked if we wanted to tour the rooms. This was a month ago. And the place was getting busy with current members coming in to look at the rooms. I think if you expressed a high interest, they would have showed you them. I did buy, but I knew I was buying before I did the tour.
