I remember, after the underwear bomber, airlines were turning off the navigational system for the passengers to see where the plane was. As a result, it affected some planes (the ones with individual screens) ability to show movies. They also were prohibiting people from using their iPods, portable DVD players, etc.
I never heard anything else and was wondering if they have lifted that ban or what the current rules regarding electronics was. Can anyone help?
Thanks!
Rachel

Electronic devices are not allowed to be on for the first 10 minutes of the flight and during landing. DVD Players, Ipods, laptops, cell phones in airplane mode and other electronic devices are allowed to be on during the flight.

You don't say which airline you are flying so take our answers with a grain of salt. On Delta, electronic items are only permitted above 10,000 feet. You should check the passenger information page on your airline's web site for specific rules.
