Are there any incentives for a new member buying with a referral from a current member?

Reward Descriptions

You may be eligible to receive a Reward when family or friends provide your name as a reference.

"Your family or friends must purchase a real estate interest in a Disney Vacation Club Resort in order for you to receive a Reward.
"Due to state regulations, Members who reside in certain states may not be able to select certain Reward Options.
"Reward Levels are based on the number of referrals who complete a purchase within a calendar year. You may receive credit for up to a maximum of five (5) Rewards within a calendar year.

Level 1 = 1 referral

Level 2 = 2 referrals

Level 3 = 3 referrals

Level 4 = 4 referrals

Level 5 = 5 referrals
"When you choose a Reward Option, the full value of the Level is applied to it  you cannot split the Reward's value between multiple Reward Options.

Annual Dues Credit

Reduce your annual dues by the amount of your Reward. Your monthly deduction will be adjusted to reflect the new amount.

You can use this option toward your down payment for an additional real estate interest purchase represented by at least 25 Vacation Points. You must have initiated your purchase prior to selecting this option.

Disney Gift Card*

Disney Gift Cards can be used like cash at most locations in Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland® Resort, all Disney Vacation Club Resorts, Disney Store locations in the US, disneyshopping.com, and aboard any Disney Cruise Line®. They do not expire. **




*This option is sent via express mail and cannot be delivered to a PO Box. If you choose this option, you will be prompted to confirm your shipping address.

** Rewards will not be exchanged or replaced by the Sharing the Magic referral program if lost or stolen.

Is this incentive only available if the purchase is made directly from disney? A friend asked us to give her name, but we are looking at the resale market.

Disney gives the referral fee only if purchased direct from Disney and you have to be living in a State where they can legally do so.

Many have reported that they have had to really bug Disney to get paid and that it can take months.

I think the key to getting paid promptly is for the referee to call their Disney DVC person and give them the person's name and phone number. That way they know you are the referring person. I know there's a card you can give the interested party, but who keeps up with that? That's what I've always done and haven't had a problem.

One year I had three people that I referred that signed up. One was my tablemate on a cruise whom I had never met. I walked with her to the DVC kiosk on the ship and told them she wanted info. They had me fill out a form with my member number and other info on it and I was able to look online to see if she signed up. She told me she did on the ship, but you don't get anything until the paperwork is approved.

When I have friends that want to sign up, I ask their permission to give their phone number to my DVC Rep. She then calls them and emails them the info.
