Does anyone know what the current incentives are for anyone wanting to purchase DVC for the first time? I have a friend who is interested and requested the kit but she states that the information is not in there. I advised her to call but she feels uneasy about calling, as she is already confused.

Well...her confusion is the first clear indicator that she's reading the material thoroughly! :rotfl2:

The incentive currently for SSR is with a Friends/Family referral from some kind person like you, she will get 15% off the price of $98. That's a whoppin' big discount, and reduces the price to $83.30 per point! She has to buy 150 points or more, of course.

Hi The friends and family are the only one being offered. If she needs a referral I would be happy to help,If you are not a DVC member.

The current incentive of 15% off is a great deal. I think that it ends at the end of January so they will need to decide soon to get this deal. This deal has been the best in some time.

Thanks all!

Yes we are DVC members. Just that I was not able to answer that for her as I dont have any info on it. Someone thought that there was also a $1250.00 additional discount if they signed up now or they also got an additional equal amount of points (one year only) for purchasing now. I dont remember. Anyone hear of this????? :confused3

Gee wouldnt it be nice if you could purchase points at any other resort that DVC currently had available for that same price?

If you are a DVC member then they should use your name as a refereal. Depending on the state you live in you might get a referal fee. The 15% dicsount is only available for SSR and I think that they need to buy 150 points. The other DVCs are $92 per point if Disney has any points available in their inventory.

I am going to join the DVC, but am looking for a referral to sponser me. The discount is too big not to try. If there is anyone who would not mind allowing me to use them as a sponser, I would be very grateful.

Dan,
I sent you a PM. I think it sent several times. The system was acting up and it was sent more than once, I think. Sorry!

there was a $1200 off for SSR but the 15% friends and family deal is a much better deal and you can't do both (trust me i asked!). She should call and talk to a guide since they are very helpful with this and all info. The $1200 ended soon (not sure when), and I know the 15% ends soon too, but it's such a great deal and they don't do deals like this a lot. Also with the 15% you can get 2005 use year points.. at least we did and we just sent our paper back yesterday. I would tell her to call and get more info from her guide about this deal since it's a better deal then the $1200 off.

For us we did the 150 and ended up putting 10% down and they took the 15% off as our 15% down payment. So we ended up putting down 25% (only 10 was out of our pockets, the 15 was dis). If you have any questions pm since we just did this all this past week I have a few details in our folder if you need more.

That did answer a question of my own, as to whether or not they could stack discounts. I wondered that myself! Thank you, and if others need referrals, I and many others on this board are more than happy to refer if you don't have a friend or family member who is already a DVC member! Feel free to ask!

We LOVE good deals! :cool1:

My eyes are tired, so if this is a repeat, sorry. The discount was mentioned as part of the down, we did the same thing. We also got an Aug use year, and they gave us the 2005 points, even though we don't close until 02/06.

We can bank the 05 points by Jan 31, even though we haven't closed yet.
SWEET! :cool1:

Just received a postcard today that the incentive (Family & Friends 15% savings offer) ends February 1st.

Will there be a price increase after the current incentive ends? Last time there was a price increase, the resale market went nuts for a few months.

Even if Disney goes back to $90 per point for SSR ($98 less $8 incentive) which was the incentive prior to the current 15% I would think that the re-sale market would become more active or prices would go up since the spread between re-sale prices and SSR would increase.
