Current "free" dining promotion question

We are planning on staying in either Coronado Springs or CBR for our December trip. "Free" dining promotion was released today, my family and I decided to go with the QSDP this time.
My question is...Will they let me use the promotion for the QSDP instead of the standard DDP if I am staying in a moderate instead of a value resort?

No, you can not downgrade the FD plan at your resort.

Hi, why not go to a Value resort?, you will get the QSDP with a mug for every guest in your room, 2 snacks for every guest every day, and the values are very Disney themed, and they are cheap too. You can go to visit other de luxe resorts and eat at their counter services, and return only to sleep at the value, only my opinion,

Get the free DDP. You can use it at only QS if you choose.

I say save the $$$ and stay at the value! we switched today from a 2 bed villa @ OKW to free quick service @ POP. Saved $2,000!!! and I had a 40% pin when I booked OKW. Free dining was the better deal for sure! When we thought about how we do a disney trip, we realized that we just need a place to sleep & head back to the parks!! Just my.02!!

Yea talked it over with the wife and I am going to go with the value resort for the QSDP.
According to **************.com I should book at POP Century, so that is what I am going to do tomorrow. My only concern is POP Warner week....

Easy NO ADRs...We did the standard DDP on our first trip but we didn't like planning our day around ADRs. Granted the food was GREAT just want to spend our time enjoying the parks....Not the food.

We were there during Pop Warner week. I heard that POP is the only value that the kids dont stay at. I did hear that CBR is pretty noisy with them there. The parks were not overly crowded either. We were going to book at CBR last year but after reading that they book there, we switched to POP. Pop is busy during the morning hours for breakfast. Have a magical day!

I second what a previous poster said....You can use your table credits at a quick serve. We did it the last time we had free dining.

If you're planning on checking in during Pop Warner week, you may come nose to nose with the blackout days. So check and make sure first!

Is it a for sure thing that you can use your TS credits for a QS meal? Are people ever told no that you can't use a TS credit for a QS meal? I'm thinking of doing this but am nervous we would get turned down at the QS counter when we told them to use the TS credits.

We had planned to stay at BC CL on the QS . We were looking forward to 2 snacks, a mug and no ADR. I too used a 40% pin but then decided to change to CBR and have FD!!!! We have saved $1700 by taking this deal!! I will used the saved money for airfare! So now we are looking at where to use our TS meals

It is not Disney's policy to have you use TS for QS, but you can do it. One year they offered it up because they didn't have enough ADR's for everyone. That year they gave you a lanyard or a credit for snacks...i think? I know we got at least 2 pin lanyards.

We had the same dilemma. We wanted QS but POFQ. We decided to go ahead and do the reg dining plan. We mostly do buffet breakfasts so the tips aren't as bad. And one day we are using 2 for Hoop de doo at night and the gratuity is included in that. MAkes is a little easier.

2012 everyone gets the refillable mugs on all dining plans, and the QS looses one snack credit so you only get one a day!

Pop Warner week is the first full week of Dec, and those dates are blacked out for FD...unless you're arriving before 12/3 and staying a while.

We have done that at POP & PORFQ food courts. Usually when we have the deluxe plan we use one of the TS credits each for a QS & you can even speak to the cashier or food court mgr to approve using the TS credit for several snacks. We have done that before on the last day for snacks to take home.
