Current availability for first week of April

Has anybody tried for anything over that week of spring break lately? I just found some GREAT fares on AirTran out of BWI for Sun-Thurs. (Hello? Denise!? You listening? $148 roundtrip which ain't too shabby these days! ) Just wondered if everything is already booked up.

Thanks Annie!!!! I just spoke with Airtran....my fare dropped from $88/person(one way which I thought was fantastic) to $54/person!!!!!!!!!!!! Kept same flight, seats, is non-stop!!!! This is for my May/June trip. I just got credited $158!!! Now, I must use this by Nov. 7th.....can we say Vero Beach in October!!

Oh Yeah Baby! We also have a credit with AirTran...$112 that actually needs to be used by Jan. 6! But since MS is closed today...dunno if / what might be available for April at this late date... But with this deal, after our credit it would only cost $332 roundtrip for all 3 of us! Is that tempting or WHAT?

Have you checked the April 2009 thread in the DVC-Resort Reservation Availability Forum?

It's not perfect, but thanks to our fellow DVC DIS posters, you can at least see what dates they have reported as unavailable.

Thanks, Carol...I had forgotten about that thread! Just as I suspected...no studios open anywhere for the 5th-9th of April. Oh well. Guess that settles THAT!

Sure wish Southwest would come up with better prices.. $209pp one way.. It shocked the heck out of me.. I am so use to SW being so much cheaper than that..

I am really considering going some place else.. If I have to pay that much for air, might as well.

P.S.. tried airtrane and they dont have better air for me during the time I want to go..

I booked one week ago a value studio at AKL for the night of April 5th. I am on a wait list for the standard view because we have five people.

I would waitlist and go and have fun in April!

I'm too anal for that! I would not book airfare based on a waitlist! But the price on the airfare went back up today to over $200 so OH WELL. It was not meant to be...

Really? I haven't checked Airtran yet......why would it go down, then go up? Well, I got that big fat credit, so they can't change that now....but wow.....I need to check to see if they bumped my airfare back up! I just checked, fares are still CHEAP.....still $54/person for my vacation time!!

Oh yes! The fares fluctuate every day, throughout the day. I have some fare alerts set up on Kayak.com that I watch ('cuz I am anal that way). Each alert has a little graph that shows all of the ups & downs that particular search has had since I started it. They swing wildly sometimes. The one that was $148 yesterday went up by $26 first thing this morning to $174 then at some point this afternoon it was $255 or something. RIGHT NOW I just looked at it again and it was $245!! When you see a good price you almost don't have time to think - just grab it 'cuz you never know!
