Will be there in 2 weeks for a trip 3 years in the planning!!! Used to be a pro but feeling rusty.

With all the posted monorail problems, should we try that first or head directly to the boat?

Does anyone know what time the first boat leaves Poly for MK?

Thanks Dis'ers-you've been so helpful as I figure out all the changes!!!

I'd go monorail. The resort one will be running early. We've found there can be long lines for the boar first thing in the morning.

I would second the monorail option. We like the monorail and it goes quickly to MK from the Poly.

The OP is asking this question specifically because the monorails have been having operating problems over the last few years.

If the resort monorail has been shut down for repairs, Disney will provide special buses (at the resort bus stops) to
cover the routes normally handled by the monorail.

They can also add shuttle boats (or increase the SIZE and/or operating hours of the shuttle boats) to help move more passengers.

Monorail was down on Monday so they had buses starting at 7 from the poly to MK.

Please note that the resort launches don't run if lightning is in the area. The official statement is that the hours vary but we have always found the boats running well before the often quoted 30 minutes before MK opens.

As Robo posted above, if the resort Monorail is down, there will be busses available at the resort bus stop and additional watercraft.

From Poly, it is also possible to walk to the TTC for the ferry there (lightning, of course, still applies I think).

The Ferry boats may or may not be going to MK early, often depending on whether it is AM EMH at MK that morning.
(This stuff can get complicated in a big way!)

The walk between the Poly and TTC is shown below.

Is the walkway still open? We've used it in the past but I thought I'd read it was currently closed. We use it a lot when it's open, especially when heading to Epcot.

Even if a specific walkway is closed (don't know if it is or not,) the area is open enough to be able to get between the Poly buildings and TTC.

Can I ask how long the 7am bus takes to get to the MK please? Do they stop at other resorts en route?

We have an Early Magic Morning booked for Tuesday Aug 16th and wanted to get from the Poly to the main entrance by 7.30am. What would you recommend?

Saturday night I took the path along the beach to where the blue and orange lines meet without a problem. I'm not sure if the path outside of the resort is closed or not

We went straight to MK from the poly took about 15 mins but dont rely on that I would give myself a good 45 if they swing by GF before they go. I really think it depends on how many people get on as the two trips we mase over to DHS the first time the bus was almost full and we went straight there but the second time with only 15 people on we stop at GF before going over.

Thank you - I'm guessing the earliest bus would be 7am regardless? In which case, I guess we are just at the mercy of the bus drivers/crowd levels? I'd happily get an earlier bus to ensure we had plenty of time, but I assume there isn't one?

We're staying the Poly and going to EMM the week after you. Please come back and let us know how the morning transportation worked out for you! Have an amazing trip!
