Any tips on converting $Cdn to $US?

We'll be using credit cards as much as possible, but what's the best way to handle cash? Get lots of $US cash before we go to take with us? Use ATMs down there (and what are the fees for doing that?) Use travellers' cheques?

Hi there! Welcome to the DIS. We tend to use travellers cheques because we get them free through our bank. Many others have stated that credit cards tend to give them the best rates. I would stay away from ATM's though, they tend to be expensive. Best tip is to watch the exchange rate and buy when it lowers. When are you going?

We're going Oct.30 -Nov 7 -- the closest I could get to the dates we wanted and also take advantage of the Air Canada seat sale! We'll be staying in the Downtown Disney area.

What are the best places/ways to cash travellers' cheques? Do some places charge fees to cash them? Are there banks on Disney property? Will stores cash cheques, but only if I buy something? Any limits on how much you can cash at one time?

I am assuming you use US$ travellers' cheques as I know these are easier to deal with than Cdn$ cheques.
