Hello all! We've just finished up three days at the Universal parks prior to heading to Fort Lauderdale to board the "Oasis of the Seas" ship, and one interesting thing cought my attention while we were at Islands of Adventure.

Near the Hulk Coaster, there are several poles that have what looked like identifying numbers like "G3", "G4", and "G7", and had a second thing that said "Project Gamma." (The three I saw from the entrance/exit to the ride....I have a slight fear of coasters, but my partner rode it several times over the weekend and I noticed these while he was on the ride.).

I asked two cast members at the ride this and neither knew the answer to the question, and so far I have not really found the answer by searching for the answer. The question I have is this: What is the purpose for these identifiers on the poles? Is it part of the story for the ride?

I won't really be able to read any responses to this until after I get back from the two cruises on the Oasis of the Seas cruise ship (we're heading to Fort Lauderdale today from Orlando and boarding tomarrow and won't get off of the ship until the end of her official maiden voyage, and my wi-fi access will be EXTREEMLY limited!), but I appreciate any enlightening anyone can do for me on these poles!

Bruce Banner became the Hulk because of exposure to Gamma rays.

I think this answers your question, if I read it correctly. If you are asking about the purpose of the poles, I won't be at Uni until Thursday so I don't know.

I will be there the same dates. I think the poles on the track are all numbered for park maintence to identify if there is a problem. That's the only thing I can think of. I will check this week also.

The "Project Gamma" refers to the premise of the ride, basically Bruce Banner is trying to reverse the effects of the original gamma radiation which caused him to turn into the hulk, by using Gamma radiation, and the riders help him by going into the "Project Gamma" tube.. and then comes the surprise of the ride ;)

I have seen that queue video one too many times. :thumbsup2

If you listen carefully you can hear Banner saying something like, "This time I think it's going to work."
