Curious when glut of backed-up points will be used?

It'll also help when they make VGF2 available to book at 7months. Give folks somewhere to use their points instead of banking.

Won't help much because additional points will be coming into the system to match those additional villas.

By this point, I expect most of those VGF2 buyers will know that they need to reserve early to guarantee their reservations.

I guess I was assuming it would take them a long time to sell all those points, but that might be naive of me!

Disney technically still owns the villas that represent unsold points. They will rent them for cash through CRO. They start making villas available to owners in stages based on projected sales rates, but they won't release them all immediately, no.

Didn’t know that! I thought once it is declared it becomes DVC points whether they sell it or not. Learn something new every day.

Both right. :)

DVD can't sell any points that aren't declared into the condominium. But they only declare enough to keep ahead of sales. (It's thought to be about what they expect to sell in the next 3 months or so). They can rent the undeclared inventory to cash guests and they do. During the sales periods, there is more availability than the sold points can reserve.. Once it "catches up", DVD will declare more. So it's often possible for members who own other resorts to get in at 7 months. But there are usually many members who want to experience the new resort, so there will still be lots of competition for the "extra "availability.

Ah okay, I get it now. Well, here’s hoping they overestimate how much they need to declare at first! 2022 is going to be so crazy to book anywhere, every little bit of available rooM inventory helps!
