Anyone know how many miles the Fantasy puts on the odometer for the full Western Carribbean itinerary C (Coz, GC, Jamaica, CC)? Just curious .. thinking thats a lot of Diesel filling those tanks.

Not sure about the Western but the Eastern (St. Marten, San Juan and CC) was 2380 nautical miles. I took a picture of the TV with it so DS could put it in the presentation he had to put together since he was missing school.

Very interesting , guessing that's considerably more miles than the western since fewer port days , thanks

I did a very rough route on the Great Circle Mapper and came up with 2155 Nautical Miles (2480 Statute Miles). I would expect the actual route to be longer ... my map has the ship plowing right through Grand Cayman on the way to Jamaica and Exuma on the way to CC.

that's pretty cool thanks

Just for the record, the vessels run on # 6, heavy black oil, both low sulfur and high sulfur.

Curious, Can the ship make it on one "tank" or does it refuel at other ports?

The only ports I have seen DCL bunker(refuel) in is PC, Miami. However I believe they can bunker at CC as well. I don't know her cruising ranger But I would bet all the vessels could do at least 2 round trip cruises say 2 weeks) before refueling.

In fact if topped off full, I would expect them to go a month.

Great Circle routing is the shortest distance between two points. Ocean vessels only use great circle routing to save time when transiting across vast oceans, like the Pacific and Atlantic.

It does not take into account, as you pointed out, land masses and ship channels and depths of water, etc.
