Curious to hear your two cents about this...

Aww Wally, you know I love you. I just love to get a rise out of you.
Yeah, I know, that will never happen! I'm notcher type.

Well I did pitch a...

I have to agree. Sometimes the comments on some of the other boards can be quite critical with no real basis other than to carry on the doom and gloom.

I've seen comments such as "I can't believe they're closing Space Mountain for a refurb! Its ruined our holiday, so we're not going this year" I mean, c'mon its not like Space is only one of 5 rides in the entire Resort.

Anyway, there are a few decent boards still out there. This being one of them. I guess we can't name names, but I know of another set of boards quite well where the folks aren't so critical of the Mouse. Even in the most cynical-obvious-cash-grab situations I've seen comments that take the positive out of it.

Wally, I may have to add youto my list nof Gay Boyfriends! You are so funny. Mwah~

And I know that I can be just as guilty on occasion by possibly being a little snide when leaving a comment on other threads and forums, but usually only if I believe the OP or the person that left the comment, was truly being rude or ignorant. I can handle stupid (stupid is as stupid does), but I can't handle blatant ignorance or being a ******* for the sake of being....well, a *******. There are certain things that I will stand up for, but so many things that I let go too. I guess it all comes down to how the situation is handled.

There's an art to telling someone off in a proper manner. :rotfl:

I'm just so glad that I can come here, say what I want and we can banter back and forth, give each other hell, tease one another and even voice our strong opinion without being jumped on.

It's sad, because when I went to D23 Expo last month, I got to meet many of the site managers and moderators of the other forum and it was so great.

For people who are just asking a question because they really do not know the answer, I am usually nice. I answer their question, and if they asked for folks to tell why they answered that way, I will include that info. That pertains mostly to things like restaurants, or resorts.

Then you get the people who have already made up their minds to do something dangerous, disrespectful, disruptive, or asinine. They are going to do it no matter what anyone else says. Yet they come post about it like they are still on the fence. Those are the people I have no patience for.

Zeitzeuge, CAN'T WAIT to see you guys tomorrow!!!

Wally!!! Are you begging again? How many times has Rosie told you there is no need to beg? Huh? ;)

:goodvibes ooooooh - who's on the list?
Could I be #1?

Lets see, who is on the list............

Bob the Hottie, OMG, he is so nice and good looking. And once in a while he posts here, although that isn't his DIS ID, that's just my special name for him, like snookems, or honey buns.

Wally, equally hot and nice.

There you have it, all 2 of my gay boyfriends. Ha ha.

Aww Wally, you know I love you. I just love to get a rise out of you.

I got a rise out of Wally once, I was unimpressed :rolleyes1

I think this thread is stupid, along with everything else

Those people always remind me of comic book guy from The Simpsons. "Worst vacation ever!"

I will say as someone who lives near Disneyland and visits often, I was one of those complaining voices about Mickey's Trick or Treat Party. I think as a consumer I'm right to expect a certain level of service for my buck, and that's not a sense of entitlement, that's just the reason I choose to give Disney my money instead of someone else.

I was so annoyed by the time we got to the park that I knew I was going to be writing an email as soon as I got home, and that's the first time I've ever written Disney an e-mail. They knew it was bad too, I got offered free tickets to return to the park as well, and I wasn't even looking for a freebie, I just wanted to complain.

So there re times when it's appropriate to complain. Mostly I wrote to let people know what was bad about my experience so they might find ways to avoid a similar situation.

Shortly after I wrote my post though someone else chimes in with "Oh no, I bough tickets, I've wasted my money, the vacation is ruined." :lmao:

I tried to put their mind at ease, but people need to seriously realize that there's a level of "you just have to see for yourself" in life. For instance, this week I discovered I don't like Disneyland chimichangas even though everyone on the boards swear they love them. I don't have to start an argument over it, I just don't have to buy them anymore.

wow, what was it about this subject that gave so many of us the urge to write a novel?

...people need to seriously realize that there's a level of "you just have to see for yourself" in life.

Truer words were never spoken (er..typed) :thumbsup2 ...and certainly not just about halloween candy nor chimichangas either! ;)

Well, I didn't mean to put up a stupid thread. :)

Only wanted to vent some about what I've seen over there. I guess after a while of seeing so many threads of this type at that other forum (not DIS), I had to get this off my chest and see what others thought. I was siting examples that I read in one day about various things. We all have the right to complain. We all have the right to get our moneys worth as well. I'm not discounting that. We all have the right to our opinions as well, be it stupid or not. I'm more directing everything I saw at some members over there who do nothing but basically bash anything Disney related. It was a bit overwhelming at one point. I wasn't the only one that day who noticed it.

I got a little bold over there after that and brought the subject up to them. I was just waiting for my account to be deleted. :rotfl: I was told immediately that since I'm not local, that I didn't know what I was talking about and that the locals had seen all the problems and issues that Disney has had regarding movies, management, resorts and parks over the years. That because of them and their "disney bashing" as I put it, that they've caused some change in what they deem as the right direction Disney should be taking. I call them archair imagineers and managers.

Because of the fact that I'm in Dallas, I was told that my point and opinion wasn't valid. Trust me, I received a lot of PM's telling me how much of an idiot I was, along with just as many PM's telling me how the other forum is nothing more then a Disney Bashing site 24/7.

I was also told that MC was better then DIS because over there, they're not stifled as people are over here. I felt like I was in highschool between two rival schools. It was ridiculous.

I don't know. The comparison between the two forums, DIS is so much more laid back, less complaining, bashing, etc. More communication between people in threads, less finger pointing and people being jumped on. Just trying to figure it all out.

Well, I didn't mean to put up a stupid thread. :)

I hope you got the pseudo-joke there :upsidedow

Comedy is like diving, you jump off the platform, and occasionally you're gonna belly flop, or in my case, often.

I will agree with you on the DIS though, it is one of very few forums I actually take the time to participate in online.

Everyone here is so nice (except Wally), and it feels like there's less of that "I'm anonymous so I can get out of line say things I wouldn't normally say" attitude.

Oh and as a local let me take this opportunity to say I don't think you're an idiot

That was the nicest thing I've said all . . . . month probably, enjoy it :santa:
