So...I'm sitting here wondering just how Disney makes sure that the extra magic hours in the evening are being enjoyed by Disney resort guests only. I read a caption at the bottom of the schedule page that said something about wrist bands being issued no earlier than two hours before closing. Does this mean that all resort guests are given a bracelet and if you don't have one you're asked to leave???

Anyone know details about this as I'm just very curious.

Well, if it works like E-Ride nights, those resort guests who wish to can get their wristband & then you can enjoy the attractions for the extra hours after closure to the general public. Can't ride w/o the wristband.

HI there,

But where do you get the wristbands and what do you show as proof that you're a hotel resident?

We're only planning on doing the Magic Kingdom evening hours and I keep forgeting that January may be darn cold at night time. Boo.

:guilty:

Thanks jimmiej!

That makes more sense to me...so in reality I guess that general public will still be able to be in the park only they won't be able to ride.

I had these visions of uncrowded parks and such (I don't know if that would ever happen huh?).

I assume each adult will show their room card. But what about children??? Do they get a wristband if they are with an adult with an on property room card or does each child in the room have to have their own card too? I cant imagine carrying 5 park passes, 5 room cards, and all those fastpasses for our family. I'm hoping it's just the adults and everyone then gets the wristbands. is this correct?

We were there during the trial of the evening magic hour in May 2004. We had to go to the main gate area to show our resort card and get our wrist band. However later in the evening I noticed CMs at stations throughout the park where you could get your wrist band. Then after closing, we noticed there was literally no one in the park without wristbands. When we went to go on Tower of Terror, at the entrance to the ride, a CM was checking for wristbands. I assume you could still stroll around the park without a problem but without a wristband, you wont be able to ride anything.
We thought the evening magic hour was awesome and a great alternative to e-nights that we were always to tired to take advantage of. It was great to ride our favorite rides over and over without waiting and not having to get up at 5am to get going to an early entry park.

I dont know if its anything like MVMCP but you can not stay in the park if you dont have a wristband. Dec 5th Dh and I tried to stay in the park because we only wanted to see the parade and we did'nt need to ride any rides. Wrong I know lol but I just wanted to know if it would work. We thought we just wouldnt be allowed on rides but we could still shop. WRONG!!!!!LOL they closed all the shops when the park closed and had cast members everywhere. You could not leave one land and go into another without a wrist band. You could not go into any stores with out a wrist band. We were literally forced out at 6 on the dot when the park closed. Just didn't want anyone to think that this might work and have the same thing happen. Now I of course dont know if they will be as extreme but if they are be prepared lol to have a wristband or leave.

disneydreamer2... your room key is your ticket/pass, so you only have to carry one thing per person... it can also be used for charging privileges if you choose...

skylarr29, EMH is different from MVMCP. MVMCP is a separately ticketed event - MK closes at 6 to all who don't have a MVMCP ticket and they have to leave. People who were already in the parks and have a MVMCP ticket are given wristbands to identify them as people who would be able stay for the event. They are gathered into one "land" while the other parks guests are escorted out by 6 PM, and yes most of the shops do close from 6-7. For EMH, as I understand, non-resort guests will be allowed to stay in the park, but they won't be allowed to ride.

I Must Say that I was a little disappointed tonight when we went to get our bracelets for EMH. CM just put them on our wrists and when I asked how he knew we were Resort guests he just said "well you put your arm out!"

This happened twice this Week once at MGM and once at MK....all in all, not impressed as I am sure this will add more off site guests just because they can mess with the system.

P.S. Biometrics for all tickets suck!!! Wayyyyyyy too slow.

By the way we use our AP's to enter the Parks, So it is not clear that We are staying on Site

We had a room key and separate park hoppers - 2 separate cards. Do they put the ticket on your key if you are doing a package? Because I know for a fact we had separate tickets/room keys, and I assume we will this time since we are buying the tickets in advance and they have no idea that we are staying onsite. I know for sure I will have them separate since I bought an AP.

We only needed to show one room key for the 3 of us at MGM. My 2 yr old son had to get a bracelet too even though he didnt have a park ticket. They had several places set up where you could get a bracelet and I noticed many people being turned away at rides if they werent wearing one. They were pointed in the direction of where to get one though. I didnt see anyone being chased out of the park if they werent wearing one.

do they check the line for wristbands, or do you need to wait in line, only to find out that about 50 people in front of you don't have a bracelet?? (just wondering  )
