Curious, Are There Any DVC Members from the Northwestern U.S.?

We are close to you. We are off Skyline Blvd. (near Germantown Road). Our DVC home is OKW (still pending) and we too are thinking of SSR. We plan to look at SSR when we are there next spring.

:earsboy: :earsgirl: :cutie: :firefight

I take Germantown Road to get home from work a lot. We are VERY close.:smooth:

We bought a resale last November @ OKW and head there next week. Can't wait to leave the rain behind and see what we bought!::yes::

Maybe us Oregonians should get together. Sounds like we are all in close proximity. How fun!:teeth:

Like karebear1 said, she thought she was the only DVC owner out here. Guess not!:grouphug:

Another member from Seattle, since 2000. We go about 2x a year and also try to purchase the $200 airfare or use our frequent flyer miles. Problem with being from Washington is the license issue and we can only buy or add on when we are in Florida. Even though I am a member, DVC said that they couldn't send me a video because their system wouldn't accept the request.

Juju, could elaborate on the license thing. I'm not sure I know what you are refering to, does it have to do with buying into membership with DVC? Do all out of staters run into this same problem? Also are you referring to the DVC video of the resorts?
Thanks for your input.

Hi all! I am so excited that there are so many Portlanders on this board! I live in SW Portland near Lewis & Clark College. We dread the plane flight but I would go through a lot worse to get to WDW! :teeth:

Another Seattle area member! We joined at OKW in 2000. Just love that Alaska Airlines flies non-stop and is adding a second daily non-stop at the end of this month! We usually take a red-eye out of Sea-tac so that we can get into Orlando in the morning rather than the evening! We go about every two years. In fact we leave next week!!!!!!!

I missed this the other day (had company over the weekend). I am in Idaho, Boise area. We just moved here in June, so I'm a new Northwestern! :D

Seattle prospective member here. Someone asked about the license issue, basically WA does not allow DVC to pitch people in the state, because DVC is not registered with the state (I'm sure someone knows the details better than I do). It is kind of silly, our sales rep can talk to us about generic things over the phone, but not thing relating to purchasing into DVC.

We visited SSR (with Charley) back in Aug. Thinking about buying, but can't buy remote because of the issue above. I'll be going back in Oct for a trade show, looking to buy 200 pts at SSR during that trip.

Agree that Alasks direct to Orlando and $50 companion fare through the Platinum visa is the way to go.

Hello from Vancouver, WA (not BC). No, Montana Minnies...you are definitely not alone way out west. :D

We bought our resale @ OKW last April and will be using the points for the first time in about six weeks. It took us seven long years before we finally took the plunge!

In our case, we found a contract with enough points to do WDW every other year as we like to alternate with DL in CA. However, after spending a lovely evening with some new DIS friends back in July -- we have been warned how contagious the add-on bug can be. ;)

Can you please exlain in more detail about this deal? We live in Portland, but hey- we'd get up there to Seattle for this! Which Visa platinum???

Lisa,

The add-on bug is VERY contagious! We added on when we went home for the first time last year. Have fun!

karebear1,

The Bank of America credit card is hooked up with Alaska Airlines and once a year you get a $50 companion ticket. I believe the card costs around $75 or $85 per year. Check out the info. on their web sight or go inside a local B of A.
