What are the guidelines for tipping, or not tipping, the guys who take your luggage at curbside check-in? We haven't done this before but will probably take advantage of it at PHL on Saturday morning. Thanks for any info!

$1 or 2 per bag is the norm. If your bags are heavier, round up.

Our family of three usually checks 2 bags total and if we do curbside check in, we will tip $4-$5.

Now I have a good handle on that.

They work for tips. The skycap is your friend. If your suitcase is overweight a generous tip will see you having no problems.

I do curbside check-in, it's makes it a lot easy for me and no hassle. I tip the guy $10 for 3 luggage. It's worth it to me. I go in the terminal without lugging the luggage and standing in line with my children to get our tickets.

I'm with the $1-$2 per bag, more if theyb are heavy, and even more if it's wicked cold at the airport. We have gotten greatv service from the skycaps this past trip, like help unloading, so I think it can be $10 well spent.

We do curbside check-in at Phila all the time. Those guys are wonderful. They check our id's, check the baggage and print up our boarding passes for us. Once he even walked me to a certain counter when we upgraded to first class with our divendend miles. We tip no less than $10 and they appreciate it and we receive great service. Kudos to them.

Nothing you have to do special other than walking up to the counter for your airline. They will take your bags, check your ID, and give you your boarding pass.

But is it typically faster than counter check-in?

It has always been faster than the counter in my experience. :cool1: :cool1:
