Curative closed dec 24/25

That’s too funny, our appt is 3-3:30 :)
Thank you for your kind words. If this is a walk up site, then we would take Uber each way. If it’s drive-thru, we will probably stick with Walgreens.
I tried to grab the earliest Walgreens possible but the apts were being gobbled up and I had to do 5 separate entries 🤦🏼‍♀️ So our apts are spread between 10:30 & 11:30. Crossing my fingers that they’ll take us all at 10:30.

We’ll probably do the Curative test as well, just to hedge our bets against an inconclusive result. We have nothing planned that day but sleeping in and packing up to leave early on the 24th. So ready to leave already!

We had 3 people with different appointment times spread over a couple of hours and were able to do them all at once without a problem.

Do you know if the Hawaiian rumble location (curative) is a drive thru test? Why do you think the test might be inconclusive?
So for Walgreens we couldn’t get any times on the 23rd for the Apopka location, but 5180 Irlo Bronson had tons of spots.
You depart Disney on Dec 24th?

I tried Irlo Bronson first. My first attempt i got 9:30 but then it jumped to 10:30 on my second with the fifth apt at 11:15 - I changed the 9:30 to 11:30.

I don’t really know about the HR site. I didn’t look too closely as we’re covered either way (walk-up or drive-thru).

With 5 of us (including 3 minors) doing self-administered tests, the chances of something going amiss is a lot higher. I look at everything this way though- so the chances of one of us getting sick before a cruise is a lot higher than for a couple or family of 3. I’m a bit anxious by nature and like the odds in my favour.

You’re getting on a cruise after? That’s nice! I’m not sure if we will do the cruise yet (ours is mid January) as we have to come back to Canada for a couple of weeks and I’m afraid by January we’ll be in the thick of things here. Trying not to think about it.
We have one minor with us, but I do understand having 3 kids doing their own tests is more stressful. Though I read that the parent administers the tests to their kids. (With Curative)

No, just that every time we go to cruise or go on vacation during the winter one of my 3 is sick (every. single. time :scared:). It makes us more wary of assuming everything will just work out, kwim? We're also taking the testing kits distributed to students with us -DD says students are calling it Doug Ford merch :lmao:

Lol - DS brought the tests home too, we also have some we picked up at CVS in August.
On a serious note, I totally get it. I also have so many what-ifs on my mind, and I’m not an anxious person by nature, well… I wasn’t. The pandemic changed that to extent. Travel can be unpredictable and stressful at any time, there is even more to it now. It will work out though, and in the end the mental escape from “everything is about covid at home” will be worth it. I do keep saying to DS… hopefully we get to go, until we cross the border in 2 days… well… you know what I mean :)
Oh and I wanted to add, also booked Walgreens tests 24th around lunch time, not sure yet when we want to test…23rd in the afternoon or 24th by Noon….

Has anyone actually use Curative for the Rapid PCR test, near Disney World? Is the Hawaiian Rumble location drive-thru, or a walk-up tent? It’s not clear on their website. We have appts booked for Dec 23 in the afternoon at this location and also Walgreens 5180 W Islo Bronson Memorial. I know Walgreens is a drive-thru test. Just wondering about this one. It would be easier (I suppose) if it’s not a drive-thru as we won‘t have a vehicle. On the other hand, so many more reports from Canadians using Walgreens.

I used Curative at the Hawaiian Rumble location on Dec 9th. It’s a walk up tent, not drive through. We showed our QR code that we got when we booked, were given a swab. Someone walked us through how to do it then we dropped off our samples to the little trailer. Took about 5 minutes? Ubers we’re about $30 in total with tip. We got picked up from Contemporary and dropped back off at Riviera. The location is pretty close to Disney Springs area. We got results in about an hour with a link to a PDF and downloaded and saved to our phones. Very efficient and I would use them again if needed!

Thank you! We have both Walgreens and Curative booked for Dec 23rd - if Curative is not a drive thru we might go there just because we don’t have a car with us. Thank you for letting us know! So the test they did was accepted by Canada then? It’s just that there are a lot more reports from Canadians going the Walgreens route we were skeptical…

We had no issues but the only place they checked it was at the ticket desk because we had checked bags and were dropping them off. Other than that, no one asked and going down no one asked to see test results either 🤷🏻‍♀️

All went well with our test, just as you described except for us it took over 6 hrs to get the result emailed. They were really overwhelmed with tests just before closing on dec 24th but we got them and don’t cross the border til 26th.

Ooh - I like that you can book an appointment well in advance. I might have to go with this one in February.

Did you use Beeper MD

sorry I missed this . We had appts on the 24th they showed the 25th, we had curative booked the 26th enroute to the airport in case beeper didn’t show. 4/5 curative came back fine and one inconclusive.. luckily the beeper results came in the next am.
we flew into NY and drive across the border, we had a hotel booked in NY just in case anything happened or weather was bad so all good.
but I almost suggest two sets of tests being booked now just in case, something doesn’t go as planned and last min appts are crazy hard to find

I agree people should book a back up. We are doing the switch health kits and decided to book curative as a back up.
