I have seen pics of cupcakes in a bakery. I was wondering if they are as yummy as they look? Or are they comparable to something that you get at the grocery store.

I had a lemon one last month.

WAY better than a grocery store, super moist and yummy.
But at $4.00, very pricey.

I had to try one once, though, you should, too.

I see those all the time.....I want one soooooooooooo bad! LOL Like right now, I have the worst sweet tooth, that's what dieting does to me. I've never had one but I want to when we are there in May for my bday!

Had a chocolate and vanilla one from Pooh Corner on my daughters birthday- both with white icing. Very average in my opinion - not as fresh as it could have been. They are huge and enough for 2 people if you have a sweet tooth.

Had a chocolate and vanilla one from Pooh Corner on my daughters birthday- both with white icing. Very average in my opinion - not as fresh as it could have been. They are huge and enough for 2 people if you have a sweet tooth.

same here...we got a chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing (or maybe it was white icing?) from the candy store next to the refreshment corner on main street...and it was blah! nothing great about it. it was kinda hard...didn't taste fresh at all!

I've seen them in Pooh Corner and in the candy shop in DCA. I don't ever remember the name of it and I read it every trip to try to memorize it. lol Ya, no memory here! lol No wonder my Brain Age is so old! LOL

I was very tempted so as to sample one at Marcelines Confectionery, however,I decided what with the heat of the day, that unless I was going to eat it, pretty much right there and then, it would not last the trip back to the hotel. The cupcakes at Marcelines look so awesomely wonderful and delicious too. They are baked on site. Matter of fact, I believe some time this year, if it has not already opened, the new bakery for all on site baking will be opening. It is scheduled for opening sometime this year anyway.
I most definitely will be ordering one of the chocolate cup cakes, from Marcelines when the weather is not horribly hot. Unless of course I will be eating it at that time, or soon. Nothing worse than melted, messy chocolate all over one's facial. On a 3 year old, it can be kind of cute, still messy, but cute. However, on someone that is old enough to be the mama of said tot, mmmm, not so much! he he! Seriously.

Maybe I got lucky and it was made fresh that day? Or maybe the lemon ones are better? It did have too much frosting on it, I scraped half of it off. I really enjoyed it though.

Every baked good I've ever had at Disneyland has been gross and taste like it had been sitting on the shelf for 100 years! YUK! I will never buy another baked good again. Especially, from pooh's corner! I'm personally happy sticking with my churros instead of paying $6.00 for something that taste like a dry sponge. My husband bought a rice crispy treat and said it tasted like a semi sweet piece of wood. He was really upset because he has the biggesst sweet tooth in the world and was expecting something good. Maybe I've always picked the wrong day to have a treat All I know, is that I don't plan on buying anymore treats like that in Disneyland anymore.

My GF bought a Chocolate cupcake from Pooh's Corner on Friday Night, I got a bite and it was waaaaaaaaaaaaay to sweet... I like the baked goods from Pooh's corner more than the bakery on Main Street...

Whe we were there in the fall I got one of the cupcakes that had the cream cheese frosting, OMG it was soooo good, very moist and there wasnt too much frosting and it was to die for, wish I had gotten one more to take back to the hotel but we never got around to it!?!? next time were there I'll get one for sure!

LOL Too much frosting, this would be perfect for DD9 and I. She loves frosting but not cake so I would just share my frosting with her. LOL

The bakery at WDW is our end-of-the night treat. We've had lemon bars, brownies, chocolate cake, keylime cheesecake, and cinnamon rolls there...all of which were very affordable and amazingly delicious!

On our trip to DLR I stopped at the bakery midmorning one day and got a cinnamon roll. It was spendy, dry, and had about 4x as much frosting as it should have. Reading the posts in this thread, it makes me nervous that my experience wasn't a fluke.

DS1 is already dreaming of Disney cinnamon rolls. Here's what we got last summer at WDW:

(Yes, that really is 6" x 6" x 4"!)

Is there anywhere on Main Street at DLR that serves similar baked goods? If not, is there a place at DTD that would be open after park closing that would offer something like this?

I will let him down gently if it isn't likely we'll be able to find end-of-the day baked goods at DLR!

I was just wondering about cinnamon rolls when your picture appeared. And then I find out I have to go 3,000 miles to get it! Are there any good cinnamon rolls at DLR? Maybe DTD or something? Sometimes you just have to have a good cinnamon roll!

I believe this bakery is in operation now. My DH works for the company that installed all the ovens, proofers and dishwashers for the entire bakery. He said he was so surprised at how fast this bakery was built.
The keys were handed back to Disneyland a couple months ago, so it should be up and running!

There is a bakery right next to the Carnation Cafe on Main Street at Disneyland that we ALWAYS stop at before we leave the park and they serve the same exact cinnamon rolls! They're a favorite of my daughter and I! We also get the hot chocolate there. SOOOO GOOD!
There's usually a bit of a line to wait in around the time everyone is leaving the park but it's definitely worth the wait!

The bakerys name is "Blue Ribbon Bakery" and we have never been disappointed.
