Cupcake Wars: Best cupcake at WDW?

We have a lot of great cooks/bakers in my office. So, my boss has been talking about having "Cupcake Wars".

I'd really like to make something great for it, and I see so many people here who love the Butterfinger cupcake at Starring Rolls. (I haven't tried one yet, as DD hates cake and won't share one with me, and they are SO big!)

So, I was wondering, what is YOUR favorite cupcake at WDW?

I would have to say the Butterfinger cupcake. Although they look huge, it's at least half icing... I love icing but not that much. I always end up throwing the middle part of the icing and keeping only the outside where the Butterfinger is on.

Definitely the red velvet cupcake I had last month at Starring Rolls. It was sooo good!

My vote is for the chocolate peanut butter cupcake at Starring Rolls. It is so rich, it took me 4 days of nibbling on it to finish. I was very glad for that in-room refrigerator!

We tried every cupcake we could find (thanks to the Disney food blog) this past December and the winner by a huge margin was the red velvet cheesecake from Starring Rolls.

We agree. I had always gotten either the peanut butter or the butterfinger cupcake at Starring Rolls. This past May I got the peanut butter and my husband tried the red velvet cheesecake one. I just wanted to try a bite of his and found I liked his so much better. He told me he'd trade, but after a few bites of mine, decided he wanted his back. We finished the red velvet one and left over half of the peanut butter one that I had always loved so much.

I also liked the chocolate cupcake with white icing that had the white chocolate elephant standing on it over at AK. I had heard that they were cute, but not really that good. The one we had was very good (moist and chocolatey). I gave the white chocolate elephant on a stick to a little girl at the next table, as she kept eyeing it. She was so cute and her parents said it was OK.

Chocolate Peanut Butter one at Starring Rolls....hands down the best!!

However I have heard Contemp Cafe has a "de leche" cupcake that is so moist that it is wet....seen a pic too. Have to try that one.

Not a big frosting fan so haven't had many Disney cupcakes, but loved the Dulce de leche at the Contempo Cafe. Their strawberry one isn't bad, either; stole a few bites from my daughter's.

The Butterfinger at SR's is my ultimate favorite, but a close second is the Red Velvet. They are both amazing, and make a great breakfast or lunch!!

Definitely the Butterfinger cupcake but the trick is to let it warm up before eating it. It is too cold when you first get it.

Love chocolate...love peanut butter...love 'em together but I HATE the chocolate peanut butter cupcake from Starring Rolls! It is chemical tasting and sickeningly sweet!!!


We like the cupcakes from the CR. My son went crazy over his dulce de leche cupcake there. DH had the black forest and loved it. I had one filled with fresh strawberries that was awesome (on Valentine's Day...it was a special cupcake). We had a fun (but maybe a little boring) S'mores cupcake from GG. My German chocolate one from there was tasty. I had a vanilla with berry filling, raspberry icing and fresh raspberries on the top.
