Cultural Rep Questions

I couldn't figure out where to ask questions or look for people that did it
But I've been asked to come to the next stage of the interview process for being a Cultural Rep. and I'm pretty stoked I'd be working at the Canada pavillion. So does anyone have an information if there is benefits, or about housing, are you able to take time off , do you get CM discounts, have you met anyone doing this job or done it yourself and have an experiences to share?

Disney International Program Cultural Representative Cast Members are sponsored for a Q-1 Cultural Exchange Visitor Visa, which allows you to live and work in the United States for a period not to exceed 15 months in a position promoting Cultural Exchange.

As the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services requires that persons in the country on Q-1 Visas be offfered "wages and working conditions comparable to those accorded local workers similarly employed". In accordance with this requirement, all Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S., Inc.-employed Cultural Representatives (which includes all Canada Pavillion CRPs) are statused as Full Time Cast Members. This is unique among Disney Internships and Programs Participants and offers, among other things, a higher pay rate and access to the Company's Health Insurance benefit plan.

You get all the other benefits accorded to any Disney Cast Member with regards to discounts and the like, and are offered Housing in Company-sponsored complexes.

With regards to the work, you may be placed in an Attractions, Merchandise or Full Service Food & Beverage (Tipped and/or Non-Tipped) position. In any of those positions, you are required to combine the usual duties of those positions with a sharing of your cultural heritage. For Canadians, it generally means sharing geographical facts, the odd Canadian History trivia fact here or there (i.e. what Canadian Prime Minister is popularly known as "The Chief") and possibly speaking some French ocassionally if you know it.

If you are a cultural rep you get to stay at the Commons which is closed to all CPs besides International Students
