We'll be at the WL in a couple of weeks. This is our 3rd stay at the WL - we absolutely love it. Has anyone ever used the child care at the Cubs Den? Anyone ever used it with an only child? We have a 5 yr old and I wonder how he'd do on his own. Would appreciate any feedback you have. Thanks!

But not at Disney - yet. We've done this type of thing several times when we've stayed at "family" resorts and DS (now 9) has always had a great time! First experience was in the Keys when our son had just turned 6 and he was fine - not apprehensive and frankly ready to spend an evening playing with other kids (it was a fun break from mom and dad!) We have a pretty independent child, and he had experience going into a room full of kids w/o knowing anyone, which helped (you might try library story hours and events like that for starters). For our trip in August (first time to Disney) we gave DS the choice between going to California Grill with us or spending the evening at Neverland at the Poly. Without hesitation he chose Neverland! If your child seperates from you easily and seems to be at a fairly self-confident stage I think you'll be fine - assuming your child WANTS this kind of adventure.
